I have targetedmyaudience tobe maleswithintheirtweens
(teensandtwenties). Thistellsme thattherefore
stereotypicallythe male audience enjoyactionandhumour
whichI will includewithinmyfilm.
By lookingatthe marketsharesforeach genre Ifoundthat
actionis withinthe top3. Eventhoughit hascreatedless
movies(753) comparedto the comedy(2,193) anddrama
(4,086) genre,itstill takesjustunder18% of the market
share population.Bylookingfurtherintothe actiongenre I
have foundthat inthe top 25 filmsbox office onlytwoof
the movieshave arestrictedMPAA rating.Thisis again
therefore fitswithmyideaof targetingthe youngermale
audience byusingaPG-13 MPAA rating as theyseemtodo
betterwithinthe box office.Ihave alsofoundthatWarner
Bros.,Walt Disney andParamountpictureshave
conclusivelybeenthe mostsuccessful distribution
companiesthroughthisresearchandI mayconsider having
themto distribute myfilm.HoweverParamountPictures
haven’tseemedtohave distributedanyrecent highranking
movies,meaningImayleantowardsmore Warner Bros.or
Walt Disney. Inthe UK I couldalsopotentiallylookat
Vertigofilmsdistributingmyfilm,due totheirlow cost
techniques.
To conclude mytarget audience isgoingtobe mostlyat
youngmale tweensbetweenthe agesof 12-26, inhope that I can make the most profitI can.
Obviouslymyfilmmayattractotheraudiences,howeverthisisgoingtobe my maintarget.
