4. What is the Fruit of the Spirit
• Are 9 attributes of a TRUE Christian life.
• The fruit of the Holy Spirit is the result
of the Holy Spirit’s presence in the life
of a Christian.
• One of the primary purposes of the
Holy Spirit coming into a Christian's life
is to change that life.
• It is the Holy Spirit's job to conform us
to the image of Christ, making us more
like Him.

5. The order is important
• The Bible gives a list of the F.O.S, and the order
of this list is very important.
• There is a reason why LOVE is the first one and
SELF CONTROL is the last one.
• Everything STARTS with LOVE. LOVE is the
foundation of all the other fruits.
• Everything ends with SELF CONTROL. Without
SELF CONTROL you will NOT be able to
successfully show the other fruits.
5
7. Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
• 1 Cor: 12 8-11: 8To one there is given through
the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a
message of knowledge by means of the same
Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to
another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to
another miraculous powers, to another
prophecy, to another distinguishing between
spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of
tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation
of tongues.[b] 11 All these are the work of one and
the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each
one, just as he determines.
7
8. Fruit vs Gifts
• Gifts are given by God.
• Fruits are developed.
• Gifts are for the benefit of OTHERS.
• Fruits are for your own benefit.
• The world and many Christians are more interested in your Gifts.
• God is more interested in your fruits.
• A “Christian” with gifts and no fruits is a religious person.
• A Christian with fruits and no gifts is still a REAL Christian.
• An apple tree doesn’t have to announce the entire world that is an
Apple tree, by its fruits we know is an Apple tree. The same way
works with us, by our fruits people know if we really belong to God.

9. The importance of the F.O.S
• John 15: 1-8 1“I am the true vine, and my
Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every
branch in me that bears no fruit, while every
branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that
it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already
clean because of the word I have spoken to
you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in
you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it
must remain in the vine. Neither can you
bear fruit unless you remain in me. 9
10. John 15: 1-8
• 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you
remain in me and I in you, you will bear much
fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you
do not remain in me, you are like a branch that
is thrown away and withers; such branches are
picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If
you remain in me and my words remain in you,
ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for
you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear
much fruit, showing yourselves to be my
disciples.
10
11. Matthew 7:15-20
• 15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to
you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are
ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will
recognize them. Do people pick grapes from
thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise,
every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree
bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad
fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good
fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit
is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by
their fruit you will recognize them.
11
13. What is Love?
1 Corinthians 13 New International Version (NIV)
13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not
have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If
I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all
knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but
do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the
poorand give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do
not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast,
it is not proud.5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of
wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the
truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always
perseveres.
13
14. 1 Corinthians 13
• 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they
will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled;
where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we
know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when
completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When
I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I
reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the
ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a
reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to
face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I
am fully known.
• 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But
the greatest of these is love.
14
15. How can we have this kind of love?
• We are SELFISH by nature.
• We are NOT capable of having this kind of
love by our own.
• The LOVE of GOD must be present in our life.
Romans 5:5
• Treat/Love others the same way GOD treats
you. 1 John 4:20
• You don’t have to wait for GOD’s permission
to help someone else.
• If you focus in LOVE, everything else will be
taking care of. 15
16. 16
Romans 5:5
• 5 And hope does not put us to shame,
because God’s love has been poured out
into our hearts through the Holy
Spirit, who has been given to us.
1 John 4:20
• 20Whoever claims to love God yet hates a
brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not
love their brother and sister, whom they have
seen, cannot love God, whom they have not
seen.
17. 17
John 13:34
• A new command I give you: Love one another. As
I have loved you, so you must love one
another. 35 By this everyone will know that you
are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Matthew 22:37-40
• 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your
heart and with all your soul and with all your
mind.’[c] 38 This is the first and greatest
commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your
neighbor as yourself.’[d] 40 All the Law and the Prophets
hang on these two commandments.”
