10. •Why should we recycle paper?
 Recycling paper saves our nature – trees, water, energy.
•How much paper is recycled in Italy every year?
 Italy is the second best country in recycling paper. Paper represents 30% of total
waste in Italy.
•Look around yourself, what kind of paper can we recycle?
 In our area we recycle newspaper, magazines, notbookes, paper bags, photocopies.
•How many times can be the same paper recycled?
 Paper recycling doesn´t have limits. Generally the rule says paper can be recycled
seven times and then it is discarded.
•How can you save energy by recycling?
 70% less energy is needed to recycle paper than when we make it from new
materials.
 To make 1 kg of paper from virgin celulose we need 100 liters of water.
 To make 1 kg of paper from recycled paper we need 1.8 liters of water.
