3. How did we find Mandii ? Thought process We are financially struggling University students looking for a way to cut down on costs. On further research we found that many other students were suffering just like us. We came up with the idea to create multiple media platforms showing the different ways to obtain free things We then came up with the concept of providing a way of finding information about free stuff around the university
4. We received feedback from our proposal and it was suggested that we develop a character to tell the story. Introducing Mandii Twist
5. Strategy and Character Development Facebook Facebook: a facebook page was created to give the impression that “Mandii Twist” existed, this included daily updates of her where-abouts and plans to find “free stuff”, the idea for the Facebook page to add an EXTENSIONto our project, to further the concept. Blogspot Blog: This was also another EXTENSIONto our story, we started the blog to run alongside the facebook page but it was to give more information and it is also a way for students who don’t have facebook can follow our characters story.
6. Media Platforms Posters 1st round and thePRIMERto our cross media project, these posters were a way of drawing students attention and raising awareness to our concept but not giving too much away.
7. Media Platforms Posters 2nd round posters were put up as aREFERRAL to our web page and information about our project. It gives students a chance to use their own skill to find our webpage and follow the journey of “Mandii Twist” and her adventure of finding “free stuff”.
8. Media Platforms Videos Each week, we are making videos of Mandii’s adventures and posting them on the various platforms we have created for this project.
9. REPLICATION Replication – The use of all these platforms allows for us to replicate the same information in different areas of the media, therefore reaching a greater number of people Web-isodes/television Newspaper Radio YOUTUBE
10. REWARD The overall reward for viewers is watching and following the journey from start to finish, with an added bonus of helping Mandii and other viewers by posting on any of the platforms of anything “free” that a viewer has found. The reward is the adventure of MandiiTwist. The audience can also go and obtain the freebies for themselves, being an even better reward.
11. Ideas for the Future…Transformation- The concept of transforming one idea into another form of media Transformation- The concept of transforming one idea into another form of media Video Game: If Mandii’s adventures become so popular, the idea was to join forces with a new video gaming company and propose the idea of a “free” video game to start their company running. Text messaging:Only for the mad keen followers, text messages would be send to Mandii updating her and in turn she would update her other followers through text messages and other media platforms. The Major goal with appropriate funding and research would be to have a Mandii Twist at every University and tertiary campus in Australia. The aim of our whole project was to encourage students to help Mandii and tell her about the Free items and events they come across and in turn posting online so other supporters can follow.
12. If we Could do it again… We would make a free day! Which entails free stuff for everyone up at the university campus. Redbull said they would come and hand out free redbull. We would also get the red frogs to come, with other freebies such as a sausage sizzle, condoms, pocket pals, and much more!
