Constructivism is a learning theory originated by Jerome Bruner, Lev Vygotsky, and John Dewey that posits students build new knowledge upon existing knowledge and experiences. Under this theory, teachers facilitate learning through hands-on activities and collaboration, while students actively construct understanding individually and socially through problem solving and discovery, aided or not by technology.
