3. Wilbur Wright was born on 1867.
Orville Wright was born on 1871.
They were two of seven children.
They were brilliant and adventurous.
They were independent thinkers with
deep cofnidence on their talents.
4. They loved to experiment with
things.
They never went to college.
Wilbur and Orville had an ability
to innovate.
They were always experimenting.
They always pursued their
intelluctual interests.

6. Wilbur and Orville soon became interested in
gliders.
They made Otto Lilienthal their hero.
The Wright Brothers made their first flying
experiments with a small kite.
They later established their own print shop.
They invented their own self-oiling bicycle.
Due to this, they learnt a lot about the
construction of flying machines.

8. Their first attempts to build a powered airplane
were unsuccessful.
Wilbur Wright said,
“We are failing only because we are trying to follow
in the footsteps of other inventors who have tried
to fly.”
So they started gathering their own information.

10. On Dec 1903, Wilbur Wright made the first
attempt to fly their new plane.
But he accidentally stalled the plane crash.
After repairing, they decided to give it another
go.
Orville shouted in glee as he soared into the air.
Orville’s first flight covered 120 ft. in 12 seconds.
Wilbur’s first flight covered 175 ft. in 12 seconds.
The Wright brothers made history.
11. The Wrights were still not happy.
They wanted to improve their airplane.
In 1904 and 1905, they built two more aircraft.
Soon, they could remain aloft for up to 39 mins
performing circles and aerobatics.
They soon patented it.
They recieved $25k for selling it to the US Army.
It travelled at a speed of 40kmph.
They carried their first passenger safely on 1908.
12. At Fort Myers, their plane’s propeller broke and
the plane crashed killing their passenger.
Six years later they set up the Wright Company.
Wilbur suffered from typhoid and as it became
worse, he died on May 30, 1912.
Orville was shattered when his brother died.
Orville assumed leadership of their company and
remained with the firm until 1918.
Orville, was just simple as his brother and
enjoyed privacy.
13. On Jan 1948, Orville suffered a heart attack and
died three days later.
He died in his hometown and with his loved ones
nearby.
One of their friends sums up their life citing,
“They were just simple boys who taught man to fly.”
The Wright brothers teach us that nothing must
stop us to reach success.
