3Key Verse
Luke 14:28-30 For which of you,
desiring to build a tower, does not
first sit down and count the cost,
whether he has enough to complete
it? Otherwise, when he has laid a
foundation and is not able to finish,
all who see it begin to mock him,
saying, “This man began to build and
was not able to finish.”

references to money and our

of money, while others deal with
spiritual warning signs that we are
letting our “stuff” get out of
perspective
• Many verses teach us about practical,
tactical things we can do to handle
money God’s way

9Bible Exploration
• Read Proverbs 21:20 & Psalm 112 and
discuss
20 Precious treasure and oil are in a wise man's dwelling, but a
foolish man devours it.
1 Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who
greatly delights in his commandments! 2 His offspring will be
mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness
endures forever. 4 Light dawns in the darkness for the upright;
he is gracious, merciful, and righteous. 5 It is well with the man
who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with
justice. 6 For the righteous will never be moved; he will be
remembered forever. 7 He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is
firm, trusting in the LORD. 8 His heart is steady; he will not be
afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries. 9 He has
distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness
endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor. 10 The wicked man
sees it and is angry; he gnashes his teeth and melts away; the
desire of the wicked will perish!

10Living the Truth
• Repentance is not merely a change of
mind and heart. It leads to a change
in life direction. How is God calling
you to change your financial life?
• Do you have and live according to a
written budget that allows you to
regularly:
• Weather a rainy day
• Avoid debt
• Save and invest
• Give generously?
11. Wealth, Wisdom and the World
11Conclusion
• When you practice God’s ways of
handling money, he makes a
difference in your life. It’s not
magic or some prosperity theology.
It works because it’s God’s plan.
• These biblical principles are pretty
easy to understand, but they are
very hard to practice. They are
difficult to implement, but they
work and they honor God.

13Scripture Memory
One who is faithful in a very little is
also faithful in much, and one who is
dishonest in a very little is also
dishonest in much. If then you have
not been faithful in the unrighteous
wealth, who will entrust to you the
true riches? And if you have not
been faithful in that which is
another's, who will give you that
which is your own?
Luke 16:10-12
