1. Evaluation: progress Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? During the 13 weeks of our foundation portfolio in media I have learnt from my preliminary task ( college magazine) and used all of my new found knowledge to progress and make a more valued full product.
2. I have learnt in my progress that research is the foundation/base that I was to build my magazine on and with out it my full product would be disaster waiting to happen. Key programs such as survey monkey allowed me to focus on my communication skills and progress into using my language to structure questions which will narrow down the type of answers I am getting to make my gathered information precise Which in tern made my magazine direct and intone with what viewers and to see and read Along with survey monkey I looked at existing products, using textual analysis which abled me to emulate current popular magazines. Mainly focusing on their text, layout and use of colour to attract and favor specific readers.
3. Quick decision magazine Unprofessional looking Followed plan magazine Professional genuine looking Having learnt what existing magazines looked like I began to plan my full product. After not planning my preliminary task I immediately saw the benefits. I was some focused on what I wanted colour wise, fonts , layout, which made it easier when producing the final copy. Having known what magazine layouts were already being used I was then able to progress into forming my own, with research into different social groups and their wants and needs I could work on integrating them into my chosen style. My layout, composition skills and aesthetic skills taught me to use specific spacing and colours to attract attention by specific readers where I wanted it. My preliminary task failed in which area I wanted to achieve , so by learning from my mistakes and progressing with new ideas it allowed me to make my full product better.
4. Photography From my preliminary task to my full product I have learnt how photography and editing can be used to enhance the visual aesthetics of an image to fit with my chosen style. Using my composition skills I have progressed to using angles of images for specific reason. To gain a specific mood and personality from an image there are certain angles and position to use e.g.. A low angle would be used to gain intimidation from the audience and to give the subject a presence and power. I also learnt techniques in Photoshop such as zooming into an image to clarify précis cropping to make less mistakes
