PDHPE
in Schools
PDHPE is important in schools as it
improvises quality of life and
participation, encourages an
understanding of oneself and others.
It helps develops relevant knowledge,
skills and values for our children and
promotes lifelong involvement in
physical activity.
The main aim is to educate students
to develop a wider perspective of health
and to teach them how to live a healthy, fulfilling and
active life and become a responsible and productive
individuals in society. (PDHPE Syllabus, 2006).
Students must learn through a variety of
active involvements to gain experience.
Being active is important in the early
stages; games that are purposeful will
encourage children to explore their
movement abilities and start
appreciating themselves and others.
Students will develop skills, attitudes
PDHPE provides key messages
on
variety of topics such as:
Safety
Nutrition
Interpersonal relationships
Sexuality
Growth and Development
Personal Identity
Has an important role in supporting young
people to manage, protect and restore
health. It help students understand inequality
and the significance to help
comprehensiveness and build a community
that is supportive of everyone.
