The document provides instructions for students to work in groups to create business plans based on natural resources or regional products from the Serra da Estrela region of Portugal. Each group will be assigned a resource or product and must identify example companies linked to it, choose a headquarters location and justify the choice, predict the size and scope of the business, and develop strategies to increase productivity. Finally, groups must create a 90-second commercial to recruit employees for their imaginary company.

EMPOWER STUDENTS WITH ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS
The week of activities is coming to the end. We have seen that to be an
entrepreneur you must have knowledge, skills and attitudes. But this is
not enough! Being entrepreneurial, means first of all, recognize the
potential that the region offers in terms of future business. After a script
visits by companies, museums and institutions in Serra da Estrela region,
your challenge is to create your idea of a business plan based on the products / natural
resources of this region. Each working group will have a natural resource or a regional
product .
The group work steps are:
1. Give examples of companies that can use or be linked to your product / natural
resource;
2. Imagine you decide that the headquarters of one of the companies is in Seia,
presents four reasons for your choice;
3. Does a rational prediction of the size of your company, for example: how many jobs
would you create, what kind of work teams you would develop, what your concerns
about internal market, what your ambitions for the external market;
4. Think also how could increase the productivity of your business, for example:
working hours, what kind of incentives would you give to your employees, what kind of
benefits would you give to your work teams, what other products or services could
associate with your business;
5. Finally present a commercial ad (maximum 90 seconds) to call people to work in
your business company.
All your answers, ideas and decisions must be written in big colored hexagon. Use also
the picture of the product or resource on the hexagon.
