Funding to provide 30,000 new traineeships An increased funding rate for Adult Education Budget (AEB) funded traineeships for those aged 19-24 Maximum duration of a traineeship extended to one year where learners need it Young people with an existing Level 3 qualification become eligible for a traineeship A more flexible work placement element of between 70 and 240 hours, which can be done with multiple employers if needed An increased line of sight to occupational standards to support progression into apprenticeships and sector specific jobs Inclusion of digital skills where needed Employers who make new work placement opportunities available may also receive an incentive payment of £1,000 per learner, for up to 10 learners in each of the 9 regions.
