Everyone is in need of redemption. Our natural condition was
characterized by guilt: “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God”. Christ’s redemption has freed us from guilt, being “justified
freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”.
The benefits of redemption include eternal life forgiveness of sins
righteousness, freedom from the law’s curse, adoption into God’s family,
deliverance from sin’s bondage, peace with God, and the indwelling of
the Holy Spirit. To be redeemed, then, is to be forgiven, holy, justified,
free, adopted, and reconciled.

Eternal Purpose (Creation / Redemption)
It will be futile to look at Redemption without mentioning Creation; as
redemption is a recovery phase of God’s original desire that is
expressed in creation: It is a restoration of what already belongs to
man and was lost through Adam’s choices – The Glory of God.
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so
death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned (Romans 5:12)
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not
sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him
that was to come. (Romans 5:14)
But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of
one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is
by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. (Romans 5:15)

Eternal Purpose (Creation / Redemption)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. (John 3:16)
Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from
generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God
would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery
among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
(Colossians 1:26-27)
Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may
also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live
with him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him,
he also will deny us. (2 Tim 2:10-12)
twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013
Eternal Purpose (Creation / Redemption)
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in
bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect
through sufferings. (Heb. 2:10)
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with
grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we
esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows:
yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was
wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the
chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way;
and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he
was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the
slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his
mouth. (Isaiah 53:3-7)
To create means to start, initiate, design, form, fashion, make, craft, while
to redeem means, to restore, recover, buy back, compensate for, liberate,
rescue or release. Redemption can then be seen as an act that is necessary
to put the purpose of creation back on track. Redemption is related to us;
it benefits us by saving us and qualifying us for eternal life again; while
creation is related to God and God's work – His eternal purpose.

Eternal Purpose (Creation / Redemption)
Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all
patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the
Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of
the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness,
and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we
have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is
the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by
him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth,
visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or
principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the
head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from
the dead; that in all things he might have the pre-eminence. For it
pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell; And, having made
peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto
himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in
heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind
by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh
through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in
his sight. (Col. 1:11-22).

God’s Righteousness Through Faith
But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law
and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on
all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom
God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness,
because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to
demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of
the one who has faith in Jesus. (Romans 3:21-26)
Focuses primarily on the blessing the one who trusts Christ receives.
Redemption is the act of buying something back; or an act by which the
original or prospective owner of a thing pays a price to return that thing
from a present owner (back) to his/her possession.
Three of the Greek words that point to redemption in the Bible are -
‘agorazo’, ‘exagorazo’ and ‘lutroo’.
“Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and
from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I
put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an
heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statues, and ye
shall keep my judgments, and do them” (Ezek 36:25-27).
Redemption

Redemption ‘Agorazo’
Focuses primarily on the blessing the one who trusts Christ receives.
Redemption is the English translation of the Greek word ‘agorazo’,
meaning "to purchase in the marketplace." In ancient times, it often
referred to the act of buying a slave. It means Jesus Christ, through
his sacrificial death, purchased believers from the slavery of sin to set
us free from that bondage.
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according
to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and
prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good
pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of
the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in
heaven and which are on earth—in Him. (Ephesians 1:7-8)
They stand fast forever and ever, And are done in truth and uprightness. He has
sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever: Holy and
awesome is His name. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good
understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures
forever. (Psalm 111:8-10)
twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013
Redemption ‘Agorazo’
Here we see how Jesus Christ (figuratively) makes the redeemed His
own private property by buying him (believer) with His own Blood which
was shed before the foundation of the world.
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open
the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood
out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.(Revelation 5:9)
Focuses primarily on the blessing the one who trusts Christ receives.
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us
(for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”, that the blessing of
Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive
the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Galatians 3:13-14)
Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and
Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from
every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for
good works. (Titus 2:13-14)
twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013
Redemption ‘Exagorazo’
Focuses primarily on the blessing the one who trusts Christ receives.
The second Greek word relating to this act of God is ‘exagorazo’.
Redemption always involves going from something to something else. In
this case it is Christ freeing us from the bondage of the law to
freedom of a new life in him.
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do
not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of
the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of
sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the
flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account
of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law
might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to
the Spirit. (Romans 8:1-4)
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through
us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who
knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in
Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013
Redemption ‘Exagorazo’
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us:
for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of
Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive
the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Galatians 3:13-14)
Exagorazo denotes "to buy out" “purchase with intent of freedom” “to
buy out of the slave market, to buy off, to buy for one’s self; the
redeemed are the possession of the Lord Jesus forever, and will never
be put up for sale in any slave market again.
To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of
sons. (Galatians 4:50)
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book
of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God,
it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The
man that doeth them shall live in them. (Galatians 3:10-12)
Focuses primarily on the blessing the one who trusts Christ receives.
twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013
Redemption ‘lutroo’
Focuses primarily on the Price paid by Jesus Christ for our freedom.
The third Greek word that describes redemption is ‘lutroo lutroo’:
Which means "to obtain release by the payment of a price." “to
liberate by payment of ransom” "to release on receipt of ransom"
The price, in Christianity, was Christ's precious blood, obtaining
our release from sin.
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things,
as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from
your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without
blemish and without spot. (1 Peter 1:18-19)
Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil
world, according to the will of God and our Father. (Galatians 1:4)
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in
your spirit, which are God's.(1 Corinthians 6:20)
twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013
Redemption ‘lutroo’
“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit,
he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5)
“who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man,
but of God.” (John 1:13)
Focuses primarily on the Price paid by Jesus Christ for our freedom.
Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.(1 Corinthians 7:23)
twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013
Redemption ‘lutroo’
This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by
water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is
truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word,
and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear
witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as
one. (1 John 5:6-8)
“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the
Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced.
Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as
one grieves for a firstborn.” (Zechariah 12:10)
Focuses primarily on the Price paid by Jesus Christ for our freedom.

You might say – "Why do I have to know and experience this Jesus you are going on about?" Here
is why, when and how you can get to know Him.
Admit your spiritual need.
We all are sinners: nobody likes that title “SINNER”, but the bible says in Romans 3:23 that “all have
sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”.
What is the result of sin?
In Romans 6:23 we read “The wages of sin is death…” in other words, every sin is another step
towards death. One thing that we need to remember is that God never sends anyone to hell; one can
send himself there by rejecting the truth.
Since we can never measure up to God’s standards by our own strength; God has reached out to
mankind.
In Romans 5:8 we read, “God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us”. It is Jesus, after all, who is the source of life’s greatest high.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to
condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17).
What must a person do to accept this gift?
Most Importantly!!!!!
twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013
twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013
Simply receive it! Matthew 11:28 states –“come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will
give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me…for my yoke is easy and my burden is
light”.
Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the
door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me” Jesus stands at the door of your heart
and knocks, seeking entrance into your life to give you peace, change you for the best. John 1:12 says: “For
as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God”.
If you haven't already received Christ as your Saviour, don't put it off another day! Take
time right now to reflect on the state of your life, how does Romans 3:23 apply to you?
Ask God to empower you to see the true state of your heart – “The heart of man is
deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9) then
when enabled, invite Jesus into your life. Confess your sins. Receive His forgiveness and
the gift of eternal life. You might pray something like this REPENTANTLY (Having brought
your sins before God):
Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner in need of a Saviour. Thank You for
dying on the cross for my sins. Thank You for giving me eternal life. Help
me to live my life in a way that pleases You, for whatever time You give me
here on earth. I look forward to living forever in Heaven with You. Amen.

Redemption an act of the master planner

  • 1.
  • 2. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 Everyone is in need of redemption. Our natural condition was characterized by guilt: “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. Christ’s redemption has freed us from guilt, being “justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”. The benefits of redemption include eternal life forgiveness of sins righteousness, freedom from the law’s curse, adoption into God’s family, deliverance from sin’s bondage, peace with God, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. To be redeemed, then, is to be forgiven, holy, justified, free, adopted, and reconciled. Redemption Re•demp•tion 1. Repurchase, buy back (as of something sold). 2. Christianity a. Deliverance or rescue from sin through the incarnation, sufferings, and death of Christ b. Atonement for guilt 3. An act or process of redeeming or atoning for a fault or mistake, or the state of being redeemed.
  • 3. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 Redeem - gain or regain possession of (something) in exchange for payment. Compensatory - Providing, effecting, or aiming at compensation, in particular. (Of a payment) Intended to recompense someone who has experienced loss, suffering, or injury. Retrieve - Get (something) back; regain possession of. Regain - Obtain possession or use of (something, typically something abstract) again after losing it. Reach - (a place, position, or thing) again; get back to. Reclaim - Retrieve or recover (something previously lost, given, or paid); obtain the return of. The action or process of reclaiming or being reclaimed: "beyond reclaim". Repossess - Retake possession of (something) Redemption
  • 4. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 Eternal Purpose (Creation / Redemption) It will be futile to look at Redemption without mentioning Creation; as redemption is a recovery phase of God’s original desire that is expressed in creation: It is a restoration of what already belongs to man and was lost through Adam’s choices – The Glory of God. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned (Romans 5:12) Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. (Romans 5:14) But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. (Romans 5:15)
  • 5. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 Eternal Purpose (Creation / Redemption) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:26-27) Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.  It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us. (2 Tim 2:10-12)
  • 6.
  • 7. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 Eternal Purpose (Creation / Redemption) For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. (Heb. 2:10) He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. (Isaiah 53:3-7) To create means to start, initiate, design, form, fashion, make, craft, while to redeem means, to restore, recover, buy back, compensate for, liberate, rescue or release. Redemption can then be seen as an act that is necessary to put the purpose of creation back on track. Redemption is related to us; it benefits us by saving us and qualifying us for eternal life again; while creation is related to God and God's work – His eternal purpose.

  • 9. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 Eternal Purpose (Creation / Redemption) Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the pre-eminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight. (Col. 1:11-22).
  • 10. L S L A I N B M And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:8)
  • 11. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 God’s Righteousness Through Faith But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. (Romans 3:21-26) Focuses primarily on the blessing the one who trusts Christ receives. Redemption is the act of buying something back; or an act by which the original or prospective owner of a thing pays a price to return that thing from a present owner (back) to his/her possession. Three of the Greek words that point to redemption in the Bible are - ‘agorazo’, ‘exagorazo’ and ‘lutroo’. “Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statues, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them” (Ezek 36:25-27). Redemption
  • 12. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 Redemption ‘Agorazo’ Focuses primarily on the blessing the one who trusts Christ receives. Redemption is the English translation of the Greek word ‘agorazo’, meaning "to purchase in the marketplace." In ancient times, it often referred to the act of buying a slave. It means Jesus Christ, through his sacrificial death, purchased believers from the slavery of sin to set us free from that bondage. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. (Ephesians 1:7-8) They stand fast forever and ever, And are done in truth and uprightness. He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever: Holy and awesome is His name. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever. (Psalm 111:8-10)
  • 13. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 Redemption ‘Agorazo’ Here we see how Jesus Christ (figuratively) makes the redeemed His own private property by buying him (believer) with His own Blood which was shed before the foundation of the world. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.(Revelation 5:9) Focuses primarily on the blessing the one who trusts Christ receives. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”, that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Galatians 3:13-14) Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. (Titus 2:13-14)
  • 14. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 Redemption ‘Exagorazo’ Focuses primarily on the blessing the one who trusts Christ receives. The second Greek word relating to this act of God is ‘exagorazo’. Redemption always involves going from something to something else. In this case it is Christ freeing us from the bondage of the law to freedom of a new life in him. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:1-4) Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

  • 16. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 Redemption ‘Exagorazo’ Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Galatians 3:13-14) Exagorazo denotes "to buy out" “purchase with intent of freedom” “to buy out of the slave market, to buy off, to buy for one’s self; the redeemed are the possession of the Lord Jesus forever, and will never be put up for sale in any slave market again. To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. (Galatians 4:50) For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. The third Greek word that describes redemption is ‘lutroo lutroo’: Which means "to obtain release by the payment of a price." “to liberate by payment of ransom” "to release on receipt of ransom" The price, in Christianity, was Christ's precious blood, obtaining our release from sin. Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. (1 Peter 1:18-19) Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father. (Galatians 1:4) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.(1 Corinthians 6:20)

  • 19. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 Redemption ‘lutroo’ This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one. (1 John 5:6-8) “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.” (Zechariah 12:10) Focuses primarily on the Price paid by Jesus Christ for our freedom.

  • 21. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 You might say – "Why do I have to know and experience this Jesus you are going on about?" Here is why, when and how you can get to know Him. Admit your spiritual need. We all are sinners: nobody likes that title “SINNER”, but the bible says in Romans 3:23 that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”. What is the result of sin? In Romans 6:23 we read “The wages of sin is death…” in other words, every sin is another step towards death. One thing that we need to remember is that God never sends anyone to hell; one can send himself there by rejecting the truth. Since we can never measure up to God’s standards by our own strength; God has reached out to mankind. In Romans 5:8 we read, “God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. It is Jesus, after all, who is the source of life’s greatest high. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17). What must a person do to accept this gift? Most Importantly!!!!! twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013
  • 22. twentyfirstcenturyromanhighway.wordpress.com © Sabaoth 2013 Simply receive it! Matthew 11:28 states –“come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me…for my yoke is easy and my burden is light”. Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me” Jesus stands at the door of your heart and knocks, seeking entrance into your life to give you peace, change you for the best. John 1:12 says: “For as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God”. If you haven't already received Christ as your Saviour, don't put it off another day! Take time right now to reflect on the state of your life, how does Romans 3:23 apply to you? Ask God to empower you to see the true state of your heart – “The heart of man is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9) then when enabled, invite Jesus into your life. Confess your sins. Receive His forgiveness and the gift of eternal life. You might pray something like this REPENTANTLY (Having brought your sins before God): Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner in need of a Saviour. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. Thank You for giving me eternal life. Help me to live my life in a way that pleases You, for whatever time You give me here on earth. I look forward to living forever in Heaven with You. Amen.
