  3. 3. In India, the Atharva Veda (c. 1400 B.C.) mentions Cannabis (Bhang) as one of the five sacred plants used for “freedom from distress.” Sushruta, the most renowned physician of ancient India, recommended it as an antiphlegmatic. He also mentions Cannabis as a remedy for catarrh, diarrhea and as an ingredient in a cure for fevers. Ayurveda describes many of the formulation about the pharmaco-clinical application of Cannabis but many of these formulations are not in practice today. There are 210 formulations which contain Cannabis, out of which 193 are recommended for internal administration and 17 for external applications. The world’s oldest pharmacopeia, “China’s Shen Nung’s pharmacopeia”, list more than 100 ailments, which can be treated with the use of Cannabis. Sir William B. O’Shaughnessy first introduced the medical use of Cannabis to western countries in19th century. Summing up his experience with Cannabis, O’Shaughnessy concluded, “In hemp the profession has gained an anti-convulsive remedy of the greatest value.” A series of other practitioners both in India and Great Britain soon noted success in extending the use of Cannabis to treat migraine, neuropathic and other pain conditions. The oldest Cannabis claims are psychiatric from the Atharvaveda, citing its usage for Anxiety. Current research is supportive, particularly for cannabidiol (CBD) as an anti-anxiety agent as well as an anti-psychotic. Insomnia treatment is another ancient claim that finds documentation in modern phase II-III clinical-trial results in multiple sclerosis patients and those with chronic neuropathic pain. 4. 4. MECHANISM OFACTION Endo-Cannabinoid System (ECS) ECS is a collection of neuromodulators, their receptors, and signaling pathways involved in regulating movement, mood, memory, appetite, pain and many other activities. It is a vital molecular system for helping maintain homeostasis—it helps cells stay in their Goldilocks zone. The three key components of the ECS are: Cannabinoid receptors - found on the surface of cells Endocannabinoids (Anandamides) - small molecules that activate cannabinoid receptors Metabolic enzymes - that break down endocannabinoids There are two enzymes FAAH & MAGL which breakdown the cannabinoids for use. Cannabinoids like THC binds to CB1 receptor types and metabolize to stimulate the nerves and helps in uplifting the mood, where as CBD (another plant cannabinoid) inhibits FAAH enzyme and stops to breakdown anandamides & THC and thus be a useful strategy for treating anxiety and depression disorders and also for expressing the therapeutic potentiality of THC Both THC and CBD are highly fat soluble. So Infusion of full-spectrum Cannabis extract in Coconut oil/ MCT Oil (medium chain triglycerides extracted from coconut oil) boost the absorption of cannabinoids because it allows easy absorption in the digestive tract and metabolism in liver. Also, this molecule can easily absorb and pass through the blood-brain barrier and nourish the brain cells. Infusion of cannabinoids in MCT oil thus boosts the bioavailability of cannabinoids and helps in breaking down the cannabinoid-MCT complex in liver for immediate effect. 5. 5. Cannaflam | Cannaflam+ | Cannaflam (Oil) 125mg | 250mg CAPSULE | 30ml Oil (Wholesome Cannabis Leaf Extract) Reduces Inflammation, Invigorates Bowel Health TM TM TM Ayurvedic Proprietary Medicine CannaflamTM is a potent ayurvedic medicine for chronic inflammation (sotha). It provides strength to gastro-intestinal tract which indirectly fortifies the immune system. This is a great medicine for the diseases due to vitiation of all doshas such as IBS (sangrahani), skin diseases (kustha) and diseases of head (siraroga). It is highly effecting in controlling seizures (apasmara)." This medicine is completely FREE from chemicals, artificial flavors or sweeteners, sugar, salt, gluten, soy, pesticides and heavy metals. THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS (Based on research evidence) CB2 receptor ligands have been shown to inhibit inflammation and edema formation (1), exhibit analgesic effects (2), and play a protective role in hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (3). In the gastrointestinal tract, CB2 receptor agonists have been shown to prevent experimental colitis by reducing inflammation (4). Cartilage regeneration/ Osteoporosis: Osteoporosis is defined as the loss of bone mass and bone tissue, resulting in weak bones. Research has demonstrated that the CB1 receptor regulates peak bone mass through effects of osteoclasts, bone resorption and age-related bone loss. This means that the administered CBD helps to strengthen the fracture callus; the cartilage which mends the fracture. CBD involves changes to the organic matrix of bones that affects the flexibility and toughness (5). Power of plants and their proven results
  6. 6. Cardiovascular disease: In 2016, a paper published in the journal Molecular Medicine investigated the effects of CBD on myocardial inflammation, remodeling, and dysfunction in animal models of experimental autoimmune myocarditis (6). It has also been studied that acute administration of CBD in-vivo suppresses ischemia-induced cardiac arrhythmias and reduces infarct size when administered at reperfusion (7). Irritable Bowel Syndrome(IBS): Endocannabinoid system plays a vital role in regulating gut homeostasis. Its ability to modulate inflammatory responses demonstrates its part in preserving gastrointestinal function.Alterations of the ECS may predispose patients to pathologic disorders like IBS and creates more requirements of cannabinoids in body. Supply of CBD and THC in proper dose balances ECS and thus helps in curing IBS (8). Psoriasis: Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition caused by keratinocyte proliferation and inflammation due to hyperactive immune system. Up-regulation of both CB1 and CB2 receptor by CBD and THC suppresses keratinocyte proliferation and inflammation (9). In addition to above benefits Cannaflam is also effective in • Reducing anxiety and depression • For panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder • Inhibiting cancer cell migration, adhesion and invasion, because of its anti-proliferative, pro-apoptotic effects. SIDE EFFECTS & SAFETY Cannaflam is LIKELY SAFE when taken orally, as a prescription medication. Some reported side effects of Cannabis include dry mouth, decrease in blood pressure, increased heartbeat, light-headedness and drowsiness. PRECAUTIONS & WARNING Allergy: DO NOT take this medicine if you are allergic to Cannabis or any of the ingredients contained in this drug. Pregnancy: Cannaflam is not recommended during pregnancy or breast-feeding. Heart disease: It might increase heartbeat and fluctuations in blood pressure. Patients suffering from heart diseases should take this under strict Doctor’s guidance and supervision. Surgery: It might slow down the effect of anesthesia when combined with anesthesia and other medications during and after surgery. Stop taking it at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery. DRUG INTERACTION Taking Cannaflam is LIKELY SAFE and can be taken with most drugs. However, it is best to consult your doctor before starting and sharing the list of all medications to find out drug interactions. Drugs for Sedative medications (Barbiturates & CNS depressants): Taking Cannaflam along with sedative medications might cause too much sleepiness. With fluoxetine, it might cause you to feel irritated, nervous, jittery, and excited. Doctors call this hypomania. Drugs forAlcohol de-addiction: Taking Cannaflam along with drugs for alcohol de-addiction i.e., Disulfiram can cause agitation, trouble sleeping and irritability. Drugs that control blood sugar level: No conclusive evidence found for such kind of drug interaction. However it is considerably safe to take with drugs that control blood sugar level. This drug can also interact withAstemizole, Cisapride, Pimozide & Terfenadine. So it is advisable not to take Cannaflam with these drug combinations. Power of plants and their proven results
  7. 7. DOSAGE It is advisable to start with low dose as dosage may vary according to disease state and conditions. Dose may also vary from person to person according to a person’s tolerance level. It is best to follow the physician’s advice to find the right dose. CLINICALSTUDY Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder Apilot randomised placebo-controlled experimental study on 30 adults withADHD disorder was conducted with cannabinoid treatment. It is observed Cannabinoids reduced symptoms ofADHD. 9. 9. Ayurvedic Proprietary Medicine Cannapain is an ideal cannabis based formulation for alleviating diseases due to vata dosha such as pain (shola) and neuropathic pain like sciatica (gridhrasi) and trigeminal neuralgia (ananta vata), that affects mobility. It reduces fatigue and keeps you active throughout the day. It is efficacious for muscular spasm and improves quality of sleep and appetite (agnimandya). It also pacifies excess vata accumulated in nerves which cause anxiety." This medicine is completely FREE from chemicals, artificial flavors or sweeteners, sugar, salt, gluten, soy, pesticides and heavy metals. THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS (Based on research evident) Chronic Pain/ Neuropathic pain/ Sciatica: Cannabinoids such as THC and CBD in 1:1 ratio produce analgesia by acting on multiple pain targets within the peripheral and CNS along with the activation of CB1 and CB2 receptors. They may reduce pain through interaction with the putative non-CB1/CB2 cannabinoid G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR55 or GPCR18) and opioid or serotonin (5-HT) receptors (1).A1:1 ratio of CBD:THC has been found effective for chronic pain(2) and chemotherapy induced neuropathic pain (3). CINV (Chemotherapy Induced Nausea and Vomiting):Acute CINV occurs within 24 hours of initiating chemotherapy and mainly involves receptors in the GI tract and is primarily mediated by activation of receptors in the brain. THC (delta(Δ)9-tetrahydrocannabinol) binds to cannabinoid receptors CB1 & CB2 that are located throughout the body, including in the brain (CB1) and the immune system (CB2).Activation of CB1 by THC can have Cannapain | Cannapain+ | Cannapain (Oil) 125mg | 250mg CAPSULE | 30ml Oil (Wholesome Cannabis Leaf Extract) Alleviates Pain, Improves Sleep Power of plants and its proven results R R R R
  10. 10. Power of plants and its proven results medically desirable effects, such as decreasing the incidence of nausea and vomiting. The addition of CBD (Cannabidiol) to THC should ameliorate the intoxicating effects of THC, and allow delivery of higher therapeutic doses, without increasing the overall intoxication, paranoia and euphoria associated with THC, with diminished potential for abuse (4). Anxiety & Depression: CB1 and lower peripheral concentrations of anandamide or N-arachidonoylethanolamine (AEA), the endogenous ligand of CB1, is involved in the pathophysiology of anxiety, and activation of CB1 and increased concentration of THC (structurally similar to anandamides) and CBD (Structurally similar toAEA) appears to be inversely correlated to symptoms of anxiety and depression (5). Appetite loss: Appetite signal is passed to brain by a hormone called ghrelin. Insufficient release of this hormone is the main cause of appetite loss. This medicine triggers a ghrelin surge and stimulates appetite (6). Seizures:Aseizure happens when the brain’s electrical activity becomes deregulated and all the neurons fire repeatedly at the same time.Activation of CB1 receptor controls the firing of neurons and thus helps in controlling seizures (7). In addition to that Cannapain is also effective in • Glaucoma, insomnia, knee pain, muscle cramp, back pain • In the treatment ofAlzheimer’s, Parkinson's and other neurodegenerative diseases • Preventing cancer •Autism, epilepsy, neuropathic disorder, and multiple sclerosis SIDE EFFECTS & SAFETY Cannapain is LIKELY SAFE when taken orally as a prescription medication. Some reported side effects of Cannabis include dry mouth, decrease in blood pressure, increased heartbeat, light-headedness, and drowsiness. CLINICALSTUDY Neuropathic Pain Arandomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel design trial was conducted on 125 patients for five weeks. Sixty-three patients were randomized to receive Sativex (Cannabis 1:1 CBD:THC) and 62 placebo. The mean reduction in pain intensity scores (primary outcome measure) was greater in patients receiving Sativex. Ref: Nurmikko T.J. et. al., Sativex successfully treats neuropathic pain characterized by allodynia: a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. Pain.,2007, 133(1-3):210-20. 13. 13. Cannaron | Cannaron+ | Cannaron (Oil) 125mg | 250mg CAPSULE | 30ml Oil (Wholesome Cannabis Leaf Extract) Revitalizes Nervous System, Uplifts Mood Ayurvedic Proprietary Medicine Cannaron is a natural Cannabis medicine for all neuro-degenerative diseases. It helps manage age-related ailments of the brain and the nervous system. It brings relief from wide spectrum of neuropathic conditions, nourishes the neural network, improves mood and quality of life.Atrue lifesaver for patients with depression, it has the potential to stimulate, energize and uplift. This medicine is completely FREE from chemicals, artificial flavors or sweeteners, sugar, salt, gluten, soy, pesticides and heavy metals. THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS (Based on research evidence) Neuro-degenerative diseases: Neuro-degenerative diseases likeAlzheimer's, Parkinson's, MS, Muscle spasms and others are caused due to inflammation. Inflammation causes increased production of beta-amyloid molecules (a sticky type of proteins), which forms amyloid plaques to accumulate between the neurons and creates damage to neurons in brain. THC is found to promote the removal of toxic clumps of amyloid beta protein in the brain and thus protect neurons (1). Chronic pain: THC (one of CB1 agonists) reduces acute pain through activation of descending spinal serotonin pathways and subsequent activation of 5-HT2Aand 5-HT7 receptors in the spinal cord. CBD interacts with pain receptors in the brain to exert pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects.A study on patients having neuropathic pain concluded that higher concentration of THC helps in alleviating pain (2). Power of plants and their proven results R R R R
  14. 14. Mood:Astudy conducted on 42 participants found that in comparison to placebo, when treated with low dose THC, subject showed significant reduction in both subjective distress and psychosocial stress and improved mood (3). Depression: Serotonin, produced in brain from neurons, is important for regulating pain, mood, cognition, anxiety & depression. THC inhibits both serotonin-metabolizing MAO(Monoamine oxidaseA) activity and serotonin reuptake activity and thus blocks the signal for depression (4). Quality of life: It is found that cannabis use for cancer pain led to a 64-percent reduction in opioid use, improved quality of life, and caused fewer medication side effects. It also led to participants using fewer medications (5). SIDE EFFECTS & SAFETY Cannaron is LIKELY SAFE when taken orally as a prescription medication. Some reported side effects of Cannabis include dry mouth, decrease in blood pressure, increased heartbeat, light-headedness, and drowsiness. PRECAUTIONS & WARNING Allergy: DO NOT take this medicine if you are allergic to Cannabis or any of the ingredients contained in this drug.
