2. CONTENT
• We’ve used this week to make the banner for our
website. We’re using the Island School Logo, and
two photos from the Island School Website. The
photos that we have used are on the next slide,
and we’ll write down step by step how we made
our banner using this presentation.
4. STEP 1
• First, we removed the background of the island
school logo, so we could add a picture behind it.
We rasterised the layer and used the quick selection
tool to remove the background.
5. STEP 2
• Since our website is about the sports achievements
of Island School, we wanted to make it similar to the
banners on the school website and the
extracurricular website. Therefore we tried to find
the closest font and colour and put the words
“Sports Achievements” underneath
6. STEP 3
• Next we put the two photos that we needed for our
banner. We’ve changed the opacity to 80% on the
left photo because we need to be able to see the
words.
7. STEP 4
• Following the tutorial on:
http://www.photoshopess
entials.com/photo-
effects/photo-
blend/page-3.php , we
learnt how to blur/blend
the two photos together.
We have already done it
on the previous photo, but
we learnt that you add a
layer mask on the right
photo, which is the beach
layer. Then you use the
gradient tool and blend
the photo
