4. Sony Music Sony music is the 2 nd biggest company in the music industry. The company was born as we know it in 1991 as Sony Music Entertainment but in 2004 they entered a 50-50 joint venture with Bertelsmann and merged Sony with their music group to create Sony BMG Music Entertainment. They stayed like this up until 2008 where they bought back the 50% that Bertelsmann owned and they renamed their company Sony Music Entertainment Inc. Sony Music has stayed like this up until the current date.

7. Universal Music Universal Music is the largest company in the music industry. It was founded in 1934 and was called Decca Records it later changed in 1989 to MCA Music Entertainment. It is know the biggest music industry in the world and it is multi national and the majority of main stream music is from Universal.
