2. What are we doing?
Connecting classrooms and school-groups from around the world to a very deserving
community in northern Ghana.

To help a community renovate a school-
house in need of repair.
To help a educate and inspire the next
generation of global citizens.

minimum of $500 (USD) by the end of 2016
• You’ll provide us with information about your classroom (i.e. location, why you are
participating, videos, etc.) so we can build your profile on manguli.buildwow.com
• You’ll integrate information about global citizenship and this project in your lesson plan
5. What you’ll receive
• The amazing feeling of helping a
community in need
• A personalized welcome video
explaining the project from BuildWoW

wish to arrange any online-collaborative
sessions

profiles to enrich the experience
7. Suggested activities
Here are a couple of examples to enhance the
learning process:
• Have your students present on the topic of
education in the developing world and/or
the state of education within Northern
Ghana.
• Have your students profile each of the
participating classrooms in this initiative.
Depending on the age-bracket, have them
explain similarities and differences in
socio-economic status.
• Arrange a skype Q&A with another
participating classroom/ school-group.
Give your student’s exposure to
"other global citizens" from another
country working towards helping the same
community.
8. About Manguli
The community of Manguli is located in
Northern Ghana with a population of 350.
The schoolhouse, due to its’ poor
construction, has now deteriorated to a
point where it is unsafe to use.
We plan to fully renovate this school so
that the community can reclaim it for the
140 students that need a safe learning
environment that is protected from the
elements.
The renovation will consist of new floors, a
new veranda, and the reinforcement of the
structure's pillars and load bearing walls.
