Ruairi Mc Ginley budget 2011

  • 1. FINE GAEL’S VIEW BUDGET 2011 INFORMATION Fine Gael Finance Spokesman Michael Noonan TD has said the Government’s last Budget flunks the job-creation challenge, hits the most vulnerable and puts yet more pressure on lower and middle income earners. “The Government’s policies have wrecked the economy and destroyed the Cllr RUAIRI MC GINLEY confidence of the people, put 450,000 people out of work, forced our adult children to emigrate, increased poverty and undermined any concept of a just society. There is not a single progressive idea to support job creation to get our economy growing again. The lack of substantive new ideas on jobs and growth, together with the Government’s commitment to continue its failed ‘blank cheques’ banking policy, is why its plan is not workable and why we cannot support it. Fine Gael pledged not to impose income tax hikes next year. Yet the Government has directly targeted the lower and middle income families in a dangerous vice. A one income family with three children on €40,000 will lose almost €1,700 a year. A single person on the minimum wage will be €1,200 worse off. MAIN BUDGET CHANGES You cannot cut and tax your way out of recession. You can only grow out of recession.” u NEW UNIVERSAL SOCIAL CHARGE (USC) UP TO 7% I hope this guide provides useful information. Please contact me if I can be of assistance u SOCIAL WELFARE PAYMENTS - REDUCED BY 4% FOR THOSE OF WORKING AGE. Cllr. Cllr. Ruairi McGinley Catherine Byrne TD Gay Mitchell MEP Cllr. Colm Brophy Disposable income for all families will reduce by 3% - 5% as a direct result of this Budget.
