Keynote: Key Challenges and Opportunities to Work-Based
Learning Providers
Victor Farley, Executive Chair, LWBLA
Over the past 10 yearsVictor has worked in the private sector
creating the Capital Learning Group of companies and more recently
he was one of the three Founder-Directors of the Redwood
Education Group. Prior to this he worked for Government agencies
and was the Deputy Chief Executive ofWest LondonTec. He takes an
active interest in public policy, lobbying and representing the
interests of all work-based learning providers in London. He also
represents the LWBLA on the Board of the London CouncilsYoung
Person Education and Skills committee. He was a contributor to the
Nuffield review of 14-19 Education, and for the past 30 years has
supported entrepreneurs and small businesses as the Chair of the
Greenwich Enterprise Board.

Keynote: Challenges facing the adult sector over the next few
years
Ilgun began his teaching career at South East Essex College nearly twenty
years ago before joining City & IslingtonCollege where he soon became the
Quality Manger. After six years at CandI, he joined the senior management
team of theWorking Men’s College as the Assistant Director for Quality. Over
the years he has taught all age groups from entry to degree level, vocational
to academic, and today facilitates staff training. Ilgun was a member of the
ACL strand of LONCETT (London Centre for Excellence inTeacherTraining)
and is a long standing member of the West London Peer Review and
Development Group. It is his ambition to work in the post-16 sector long
enough to see the term ‘e-learning’ disappear.
