2. Introduction
The seven life processes are important to learn
about. MRS GREN is a easy way to help you
learn the life processes.
3. Growth
Well everybody knows that humans and animals
start off as a baby and plants start off as a seed. All
living things need to grow or they will die. When
humans grow the life cycle goes like this: start off as
a baby, toddler, child, teenager, young adult, adult
and last of all elder, and of course there are more in
between. By growing humans become more
capable of looking after themselves. Plants have to
grow or they won’t be able to reach the sun and
could get stepped on. Plants need water to get
nutrition.
4. Nutrition
All living things need nutrition to survive. Nutrition
is food and water. Humans also need vitamin c or
their teeth may fall out and people wouldn’t be
able to chew their food and they would starve.
Plants nutrition is from the sun. Animals nutrition is
plants and food, and water of course. Humans
nutrition is food and water. Iron is a mineral that
gives you energy and is found in red meat, nuts and
some vegetables. Living things need nutrients to
grow so people can protect themselves when they
are in danger.
5. Movement
We also protect ourselves with movement. For
example, humans can’t stay in one place or they
wouldn’t be able to eat, drink or go toilet, so
eventually they would die. To breathe you have
to be moving.
6. Respiration
Respiration is breathing and this is another of
the seven life processes. Humans breathe in
oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. Plants
breathe in carbon dioxide. The humans first
breath is when they are born and their last is
when they are lying in their hospital bed
crowded by doctors.
7. Reproduction
When living things are grown up they can
reproduce . Plants reproduce by producing
seeds, humans and animals reproduce by
producing babies. Living things need to
reproduce or their species would become
extinct.
8. Sensitivity
Sensitivity is what you feel, smell, hear, see and
taste. The senses are important in order to stay
alive because if you didn’t have sensitivity your
life would be boring, not only that but you
wouldn’t be able to smell out a fire, see or hear
a burglar, taste any food etc. Humans and
animals poo out the food they eat.
9. Excretion
Excretion is the waste in your body and if living
things didn’t get rid of that waste humans would
burst, well not exactly but people would die.
Waste can be earwax in your ears, snot in your
nose, food in your tummy and water in your
bladder. Animals need to get rid of waste more
often and trees and plants shed their leaves.
10. Conclusion
So there it is, the seven life processes, MRS
GREN, Movement, Reproduction, Sensitivity,
Growth, Respiration, Excretion and Nutrition.
They are all just as important as each other.
