My mum went from Cape town, South Africa to
New Zealand.

My mum moved here not long after she had
explored London and met my dad. My dad had
to go back to NZ because his 2 year brake off
work had finished. He asked my mum if she
wanted to stay with him in NZ.

5. Challenges, Risks For Moving
One of the biggest challenges for my mum was
that she had to leave her family. The only person
she knew was my dad. She had to learn slang
that we use in english.

She came to NZ in 1988. She stayed with my
dad for a year then she wanted to be a citizen of
NZ. In the end she got got married a few years
later. They have lived here ever since.
