ransporting personnel safely at speed
across rough terrain in trucks can be difficult.
Especially when they need to be alert and ready
for action at the journeys end. What's more in a
frontal accident, overhead crash or vehicle roll
over, passengers can be seriously injured or
worse. Now, with the ROPS System from VSS,
you can provide outstanding protection for
personnel in transit whether in operational or
training scenarios.
The system offers extra comfort and improved
healthcare. The revolutionary MouleTec cushion
technology improves the blood flow of people
who sit for long periods. Restricted blood flow
causes drowsiness, headaches, pains in the
lower abdomen and in extreme cases DVT.
The VSS ROPS system meets the ECE
Regulation 66 for the rollover accident protection
requirement for commercial coaches. Each
ROPS module is securely locked into place on
the truck bed.
The high tensile galvanised steel frame has been
subjected to the most rigorous FEA and finished
product strength assessment tests. As well as
rollover protection the frame includes a specially
developed 'tree bar' to protect occupants from
heavy overhead collisions.
The frames are supplied as 4 seat modules or
complete units of up to 14 seats. The VSS ROPS
modular design allows the seating system to be
mounted in a 4-ton vehicle by a 4 man crew
within 30 minutes. Design includes gun mounts
and stowage of equipment.
The polycarbonate seat bases and backs utilise
MouleTec geometry and principal of passive
"unconscious positional control" to ensure users
are transported in comfort and safety.
Removable easy clean Mouletec hard foam
cushions and back squabs are supplied as
required. The backs of the ROPS seating system
benefits from the same scalloped cut out
enabling the soldier to wear webbing whilst being
securely restrained by the 4 point ECE approved
harness.
As an alternative, the VSS Troop seat can be fit-
ted to replace the standard polycarbonate seat.
Vibration tests carried out on the VSS ROPS
seating system have demonstrated a 4-fold
increase in operation time compared with the
daily maximum vibration level dosage allowance.
With troops secure and safe in the back of a
vehicle it can travel faster with average speeds
increasing from 50 to 80 kph.
