besides returning the unused cheque. He did meet the old man, although he didn’t
get a chance to thank him. A nurse intervened and led the elderly man away. She
told the businessman that the old man believed himself to be a millionaire. As he
returned home, the businessman realised with astonishment that the cheque he had
kept as an assurance, had no value at all. It had simply given him the courage to
start anew. All that he had achieved thereafter had been through his own efforts and
confidence.
Self-confidence works in such mysterious ways that if individuals lack it, all
their knowledge and achievements appear meaningless for no one takes them
seriously. If individuals have it, despite being non-entities, they will be able to
convince people of their abilities and skills. Self-confidence can be built or enhanced
in many ways. People usually try and acquire certain skills or attend programs that
teach them ways to develop and boost their confidence levels. Learning sports or

apply them in their lives and become better individuals overall.
