Ask the students to ask a question pertaining to you
Give the students a chance to introduce themselves with some type of
variation such as including an embarrassing moment or favorites
Give the students something fun to look forward to
4. Lay Down The Law
Now is the time to discuss the classroom rules and procedures. Make sure
you have the class’s full attention. Go over all necessary rules and
expectations. Make sure the students understand everything completely.
5. Tell Them What
They Need To
Succeed
This is when you get the chance to discuss the big question: What do I need
to pass your class? Tell the students what you expect of them grade and
effort wise. Break down the weight of grades and individual vs group
assignments. Make sure the students understand exactly what they will need
to succeed.
6. Before The Bell
Rings
Make sure the students have what they need for the next class period. End
class letting them know what to expect for the next meeting.
