The focus of SPICE is to offer:

• Quality play-based extra-curricular activities for
  children in English.
• Child-centred play opportunities that allow the
  child to control and direct their play experiences.
• An environment that supports “Regular” and “Bi-
  lingual” school programs in the acquisition of
  English as an L2
• A model of good practice to challenge and improve
  existing and future play and developmental
  projects for children.
      • Policy (Articles 12,15,16, 30, 31 UNCRC)
      • Through Workshops, Events
      • Play Networking

A General Comment
• A General Comment elaborates on the meaning of an aspect
  of UNCRC that seems to require further attention.
• 13 General Comments have been issued since the adoption
  of UNCRC in 1989.
• Sent to192 States Parties who have ratified UNCRC.
• States Parties - required to submit progress reports 5 years

IPA www.ipaworld.org
• IPA has been invited to take a lead role in the organisation
  of the development of the General Comment on article 31.
• The UN Focal Group (FG) has been named.
• A structure for input and opinion is being developed.
• A working group will be established to work closely with FG
• Information will be available on the IPA World website 2012
