Real Ingenious Medical Education
The Breakdown of
   a Pharmacy
      Course

Medical education is very
intense. In order to be successful
in the medical field it takes a
person who has the ability to not
only work hard but also be
organized. For future
Pharmacists the classes are very
similar to many of the classes
that Pre-med students take
because they require an
individual to have a strong work
ethic, be smart, and to be
organized. Each pharmacy course
will vary depending on what the
specific class is and at what level it is being taught at but in general you can
expect the following breakdown in a Pharmacy college program.

Class Intro
Most pharmacy classes will begin with an introduction from the professor or
Doctor who is teaching the course and primarily responsible for your education.
An introduction to the Pharmacy class may take 15 minutes or it could take 2-3
entire classes. Each class is different but the class introduction is vitally
important to help Pharmacy students to be able to plan and organize so they can
reap the most knowledge from the class.

Lecture Time
Listening to the instructor lecture is the heart of any pharmacy course. Lecturing
is where you learn about the emphasis on the course. Lectures are vitally
important and if the student is having trouble grasping the information then he
or she may also struggle during the lab portion of the course.
Lab
Practical application of knowledge learned in lecture time is often applied during
the lab portion of pharmacy classes. Labs allow you to get hands on assistance
for anything you may be struggling with. If you are a visual learner then you will
truly appreciate the lab courses for Pharmacy students.

Practical Internship
A practical internship is where you can put into place some of the skills you have
learned in an actual Pharmacy environment. An internship is the keystone to any
Pharmacy education. Without an internship students would have no way of
developing the practical skills they need to become a qualified and competent
Pharmacists. An internship allows pharmacy students to put in practice
everything they have been learning during the lecture time.

Outside Study
Although outside study is not directly part of the pharmacy course, it is very
important. There is no way you can successfully complete training to become a
pharmacist without doing some homework. The outside study will not end when
you become a Pharmacist both because a Pharmacist is always reading and
learning because medicine is an ever-changing field.
