  5. First measure is the number of visits. Here we are looking at the trend for a particular web site over the past 12 months, which you can see has been trending up In fact, this particular web site is now seeing almost double a many visitors per month as it did a year ago. You can change the time frame of the dashboard to anything you want, here we are looking at the monthy stats, but you can change that to weekly or even daily stats The number of visits is an important measure, because it’s one of the primary ways you can tell whether or not your marketing is working If its working, you get more visits, if its not working, you get less visits. It’s pretty simple
  6. The next major section of the dashboard is th Site Usage area. While the number of visits tells us whether or our marketing is working based upon how much traffic comes to the site, Site Usage gives us an idea of what that traffic does once it gets to the site So in this case, the web site (which is for a fairly small dealership here in Kamloops) generated a little over 18,000 total visits for the year, and during those visits almost 132,000 pages were views. The Dashboard tells us that this translates into almost 8 pages per visit, which is somewhere in the middle of where it should be A top web site might produce 15 pages per visit, which suggests that each customer is finding a lot of relevant information or inventory A site performing very poorly might generate as few as 1.5 or 2 pageviews per visit, but that would be very low. Because if you think about it, if the number of pages per visit is 1 to 1, that would mean that each visit ended immediately, and that nobody clicked through to another page
  7. When people do that, when they leave the web site without clicking thru to another page, that’s called BOUNCE, which is the next term in the site usage area This web site has a bounce rate of around 27%, which is pretty good. That means that only about a quarter of the visits end on the first page. A high bounce rate might get as high as 40%, but we’ve seen it down as low as the teens. It’s possible to get the bounce rate down even lower, but this is a pretty good range
  8. The next Site Usage measure is the Average Time on Site Explain why this is important (the more time they spend, the more likely they are to come back or submit a lead, etc.) Explain where this site’s Average Time Onsite compares to dealer web sites generally
