Largely empty rhetoric and obvious fact
Oracle’s big and Mark Logic is venture backed, duh
(Backed, btw, by the same firm who backed Oracle)
Technical arguments relate to early XQuery implementation
Not waiting until 2007 = 4 more years experience and maturity
Language differences are trivial
Grand total of 7 XQuery extensions in MLS 4.1
4 of which are coming in next revision of the standard
Oracle has a huge “glass houses” problem
