KOHA: Download Environment

Download Files

Download yaz
 Yaz is a toolkit to
support the Z3950.
 Download it from
www.indexdata.dk/yaz/

Download tcp-wrapper
 Download the tcp-wrapper from:
ftp://ftp.porcupine.org/pub/security/

Download perl modules

Download Koha-ver 2.2.4

Installation
 File : *.tar only AND *.tar.gz
 Uncompress the file with the following
command:
tar xvf if file name is *.tar
and
tar xvfz if file is *.tar.gz

Installation
 File: *.rpm
Direct Install it with the command
rpm –i *.rpm
Manual : type man rpm in terminal window

Installing the yaz
 cd yaz--Read the readme file with emacs for
details.
Installation steps:
 ./configure
 make
 make install

Installing the tcp-wrapper
 File:
tcp-wrapper.---.rpm
 Install command:
rpm –i tcp-wrapper.---.rpm

Installing the perl modules
Perl modules to install:
 Event.---.tar.gz
 HTML-Template.---.tar.gz
 Mail-Sendmail.---.tar.gz
 MARC-Record.---.tar.gz
 Net-Z3950.---.tar.gz

Commands for perl
modules Intallation




perl Makefile.PL
Make
Make test
Make install

Koha Installation


cd Koha.--./installer .pl
Now answer the some questions on demand for
installation like:

Write the path of directory where you want to
save the installed files:

Database Name:

Server Name:

Database user:

Password:

Koha Installation





e-mail:
IP:
OPAC Port:80
Librarian Port:8080
mysql password :

Change the httpd file
Add the following line in main
httpd.conf file:
 Include /etc/koha-httpd.conf
 Make sure it is listening on the right port
& host names and also check the kohahttpd.conf file.
 Restart apache


Open the Koha
 Librarian Interface:
