Rajmahendra Hegde is the founder and lead of the Java User Group Chennai (JUGChennai). JUGChennai was started in 2010 and focuses on the Java ecosystem. It has over 400 members including students and professionals. JUGChennai holds monthly meetups and yearly conferences to discuss topics like JavaFX, NetBeans, Scala, and contributions to open source projects. Some of JUGChennai's subgroups include those focused on Scala, NetBeans, Android development, and increasing student awareness of Java.
