1. INTRODUCTION
1.There are 4 canines one on either
side in maxillary and mandibular
arches.
2.These are the longest teeth in the
mouth. The crown is as long as that of
maxillary central incisor and roots are
longer than any other root.
3. Canines are considered to be the
corner stone of each arch in
position, form and function.

3. 1.Flatter surface- Cingulum is
smaller, smooth and poorly
developed.
2.The marginal ridges are less
distinct.
3.Lingual surface of the crown is
smooth and regular.
4.Lingual portion of root is narrower
relatively thinner than that of
maxillary canine.
5.It is narrower to little more than
half of the width of labial portion.
