It does not matter how many storms you go through in life. It is how you handle the lessons during the storms that will shape your life and situation. Never give up. Keep moving forward as your life matters.

1. Breaking Free: Surviving the Waves of the Storm
We all have been tested and tried in life. These trials and tribulations may create perceptions of
inadequacy or feelings of failure. Sometimes you simply just give up as it is too much to handle.
What do you do when you feel like you are being encapsulated by the waves?
Dig deeper!
I think back at a time in my where the waves of the storm were crashing against me. I was
unhappy in my job and unhappy in my relationship. I was up to my ears in debt and I had a child
that seemed to get sick all the time. I was unhealthy, unhappy, and simply ready to give up on
life. I felt like a failure. But I just could not give up. I knew there was more to my life than
debt, unhappiness, unhealthiness, and illnesses. I had to fight for my survival as I wanted to win.
So I dug deeper and chose not to give up!
One morning I woke up and decided to change my life. I realized that I could not change
people’s actions or attitudes towards me but I could change me. I decided to grab hold of the
waves and decided to ride them out. I traded fear for peace and rebuilt my life as I deserved it.
Why rebuild?
I had no choice as I realized that I was placed in the world to live a life filled with purpose.
I decided in my heart and mind that I want to rebuild my life and my situations. Rebuilding
during the storm taught me these three things:
 Listen to your intuition: Sometimes in the storm, we start questioning our decisions. If
it does not feel right, more times than not, it is not right. Learn to re-evaluation your
situation before rushing into change. You’re building a newer you during the storm.
 Never quit: Keep moving no matter what. Adversity is designed to paralyze you and
keep you from reaching your destiny. Grab adversity by the shirt, throw it aside, and face
forward. Begin to look and those things and people who want to see you succeed. Your
endurance is key to you winning your race.
 Carpe diem: Realize that it is during those quiet moments in the wave you start seeing
things clearly. Write them down and take note of them. These precious moments may be
the next steps towards your destiny. Never sit on the sidelines.
In the end, embrace the transformation that is occurring within you. Never second guess your
purpose in life. Take some time today to review your storms. Get moving as you matter!
