1) Water is made of tiny molecules of hydrogen and oxygen.
2) Each one is so small that you can’t see it even with the
most powerful microscope.
3) Pure water has no colour, no taste and doesn’t smell of
anything.
4) Water exists in three forms on the Earth:
a. solid (ice, hail, snow or frost)
b. liquid (in lakes, oceans, rain, dew, fog or mist)
c. gas (steam or water vapour - "invisible" water in the air).
5) Water is vital (meaning, it is needed to survive). 3

Animals Drink?
 97 per cent of water is salt water.
 2 per cent is fresh water that has been frozen in
glaciers, icebergs and ice caps.
 Less than 1 per cent of the earth’s water, is
water that animals and humans can drink.

We need to conserve water because we have so
little to use and share with nature!!!!! So, here
are some ways that YOU can use to help
conserve water!!!
– Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth, that
will save 7.5 liters of water
– Only flush the toilet when needed

their water usage.

Water is essential to life on earth. We need water
to grow food, keep clean, provide power,
control fire, and last but not least, we need it to
stay alive!

• When washing dishes by hand, don't let the water run
while rinsing. Fill one sink with wash water and the
other with rinse water.
• Run your clothes washer and dishwasher only when
they are full. You can save up to 1,000 gallons a
month.

• Some refrigerators, air conditioners and ice-makers
are cooled with wasted flows of water. Consider
upgrading with air-cooled appliances for significant
water savings.
