Effective presentation rule
1. T-10 of Effective
Presentation
Dr. Muhammad Rafiq
Presentation is an art, here are ten
effective ways to deliver a
Memorable presentation
2. Preface
• Best presentation leaves lasting
impression on audience.
• The presentation is not memorized rather
supported with relevant background and
figures.
• T-10 guidelines will help
students to improve their
presentations.
3. T-1 Know about content
• Presentation is not about slide but, most
important is the message you want to
deliver.
• Along side facts and figures, be mindful
about your narrative of presentation.
4. T-2: Know your audience
• Talking to pilots is different than talking to
entrepreneurs. You have to prepare every
thing differently, contents, figures,
language, even humor.
• You can’t persuade until you don’t know to
whom you are talking.
5. T-3: KISS principle
• Everything is acceptable if kept simple.
• Difficult things leave no room of
acceptability
• Remember to Keep It Simple, Stupid.
6. T-4: Don’t stuff your slide
• Less is more effective
• Audience is to listen - not to read.
• Overstuffed material on slides will lose
concentration of viewers.
7. T-5: Choose well colors for slide
• Like font choice, colors cause specific
subconscious reactions from viewers.
• Choosing an outdated color combination
will render it ineffective.
8. T-6: Record yourself
• Use your phone’s voice recorder. Assess
and critique yourself. Consider:
– Are your pauses too short or too long?
– Are you speaking slowly enough? Too slow?
– When you’re nervous does your voice get
high like the mice in Cinderella?
9. T-7: Practice in Front of a Mirror
• What you look like is as important as how
you sound.
• Pretend as though you're having a normal
conversation and allow your hands to
move with your speech—emphasizing
your points.
10. T-8: Engage the Audience by Asking Questions
• Asking question help you to built positive
rapport with audience.
• Avoid asking leading questions or to much
questions.
11. T-9: Lighten Up Your Mood
• Tell yourself a joke or watch a funny video
clip. Do this before the presentation, of
course.
• Recent research concludes that happy
people were more productive. (Source:

• More productive is more focused and able
to perform better.
