Santi and Dorothy used to live in a small town in Spain. Dorothy’s family moved to London some time
ago and now they are about to welcome Santi and his mother Marta. Some English men who bought
Marta’s brand in Madrid suddenly offered her a designer job in London. So now they will go to their
relatives’ house in England and get used to a new country.
Dorothy speaks English very fluently because she has been living in London for some years, but
Santi’s English is terrible. He has never had an interest in the English language. He has never been
interested in studying anything. Although they are relatives they have never been friends, so they
have the chance to become closer to each other now that they are going to live under the same roof
in ENGLAND.
Santi is in a desperate situation. He can’t buy a sandwich or get to High School because nobody can
understand him, nobody speaks his language. Santi needs his friends to give him a hand, but who
are these friends we are talking about? Well, there is Dorothy, there is Sergio who will help from the
other side of the computer in Madrid and there is a girl who will help him a lot and will probably be-
come more than a friend, Sue.
Santi He is a spanish teenager. His mother has been employed to work in
England. His English level is terrible.
Dorothy She is a spanish teenager. She and her parents have lived in England
for some years. Her English level is First Certificate.
Sergio He is one of Santi’s spanish friends, and tries to help him improve his
English conversation via Internet.
