Jayesh Desai is a 41 year old Surat businessman
who is one of the promoters of the Rajhans Group
that has interests in textiles, multiplexes and real
estate. A transaction of undisclosed amount that he
made 3 years back was brought into limelight

Shobhaa de making ironic references to a popular
Robin Sharma novel. What transaction?
2.IDENTIFY X
In 1990, a wealthy Japanese
businessman, Tomonori Tsurumaki, built an
extravagant race track called Nippon Autopolis with
the idea of hosting a Formula One race. In
1992, plans were made for it to replace the
Mexican Grand Prix. However, these plans failed to
materialize. Instead, Tom Wheatcroft, pouncing at
the opportunity convinced Bernie Ecclestone to add
a race at X to the schedule which was always kept
aside since the British Grand Prix was being held
at Silverstone instead. What did this result in?
Identify X.
3*.IDENTIFY X
The X Calendar is a trade calendar published by the X
company's UK subsidiary. It has become an annual
publication that dates back to 1964. The calendar is
famous for its limited availability, as it is only given as a
corporate gift to a restricted number of important X
customers and celebrity VIPs. The pictures are
generally considered glamour photography including
artistic nudes. Publication was discontinued after the
1974 issue as an economising cut-back in response to
the world recession from the oil shock. How is X
connected to the world of motorsport, considering it
recently earned monopoly in the system?
4.
It all started when Paul Torchy died at the site of
the Delange Grand Prix in 1925. The next
year, Count Giulo Masetti died of a car accident.
Solana Moises had qualified the Mexican GP in
1963. However, he classified eleventh for
completing 57 laps before his engine failed. In
1976, Divina Galica using it for her maiden drive in
F1 at the British Grand Prix failed to even qualify.
Since 1976, it has never again featured on the race
track. What connects them, something which
Pastor Maldonado has decided to take up next
year after a slight rule change?
5.
What is the Italian translation of Red Bull?
6*.RULES FOR WHAT?

leading car. This includes a leading car lapping a backmarker.
• The following car is in an overtaking zone as defined by the FIA
before the race
• The system may not be activated on the first two laps of a race.

7.
X is scored in motor racing if a driver scores
pole position in qualifying, the fastest lap in the
race and then winning while leading every lap
of the race in the same weekend. This
significant feat is equivalent to a perfect game
in baseball, or a 300-game in ten-pin bowling.
To date, only 22 drivers have secured a X. The
most recent was at the 2013 Korean Grand
Prix, where Sebastian Vettel achieved the feat.
8.
When Dan Gurney won the 1967 race with codriver A.J. Foyt, the two drivers mounted the
victory stand. Looking down, he saw Ford CEO
Henry Ford II, team owner Carroll Shelby and
their wives, as well as several journalists who
had predicted disaster for the high-profile duo.
What was thus immortalised as a result of his
impulsive action just after?
9*.
The 1975 Spanish Grand Prix was remembered as one
of the most controversial and tragic race weekends in
the sport's history after the death of five spectators who
were hit by the crashing Hill GH1 of Rolf Stommelen.
The defending World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi was
furious about the safety concerns. He did the minimum
three laps, but at a very slow pace, then pulled into the
pits. On lap 29, the race was halted with Jochen Mass
the winner. With the race being declared before the
race had reached three-fourths distance, only half
points were awarded. What other unique feat was
achieved in this race?

starting 15th on the grid. X described his crash at the
time as a simple mistake. After being dropped by the
Renault team following the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix,
X alleged that he had been asked by the team to
deliberately crash to improve the race situation for
Alonso, sparking an investigation of Renault. His father
X was a three time F1 champion.
16.IDENTIFY X AND Y
In his Ranji cricket days, X had introduced Trinidadborn Robin Singh to cricketing opportunities in India.
He progressed from the little known races on the

alongside Karun Chandhok.
17.
X was born in Solna, Stockholm County, Sweden.
Representing Finland, he was the winner of the 1982
Formula One World Championship. He was the first
Finnish driver to compete regularly in the series.
Also, one of the people who earned the nickname of

X is the only driver to win the Triple Crown of Motorsport—
the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Indianapolis 500 and Formula One
World Championship.
His son, Y is the only son of a world champion to win the

With the world championship at stake in the ‗94 season,
Schumacher's Benetton slid wide and into the wall while
trying to stay ahead of title rival Y‘s Williams causing a
controversial crash. Y wrote in a subsequent book: "There
are two things that set Michael apart from the rest of the
drivers in Formula One - his sheer talent and his attitude. "I
am full of admiration for the former, but the latter leaves me
cold."
19.IDENTIFY X AND Y
Originally named the Île Notre-Dame Circuit, it was
renamed in honour of Formula One driver X, father

winner at the circuit. Y is the only F1 champion
from his country. Y won his Formula One Drivers'
Championship after former champ Michael
Schumacher collided with his car and spun off
during the European Grand Prix. This eventually
resulted in Michael‘s disqualification. The German

Tony Hulman made a particular command popular and
famous, something his widow Mary F. Hulman or his
daughter, Mari Hulman George have continued after his
death. In 1977, controversy surrounded the
command, because the Speedway management did not
want to alter the traditional phrase. During the week before
the race, the management announced that they would not
change the wording of the command making the excuse that
the cars were actually started by crew members. A particular
crew reacted by assigning Kay Bignotti as the crew member
to operate the inertial starter. The Speedway's argument fell
apart, and they decided upon a special amended command
for that year. What phrase and why the controversy?

• The term X is derived from the name of a town whose
name is known back to Roman times, when the location
was sometimes incorrectly connected to the Latin word
meaning to scatter, sprinkle or moisten. Since medieval
times, illnesses caused by iron deficiency were treated by
drinking iron-bearing spring water. In 16th-century
England, the old Roman ideas of medicinal bathing were
revived at towns like Bath and in 1596 William Slingsby
who had been to the town X, discovered such a spring in
Yorkshire. He built an enclosed well at what became
known as Harrogate, the first resort in England for
drinking medicinal waters. Why is this town part of this

The Tyrrell P34, also called the ―six wheeler‖ was a
Formula One race car. Along with the "Fancar"
developed in 1978, the six-wheeled Tyrrell was one of
the two most radical entries ever to succeed in F1
competition, and has specifically been called the most
recognizable design in the history of world motorsports.
It first ran in the Spanish GP in 1976, and proved to be
very competitive. Both Jody Scheckter and Patrick

car, but while Depailler praised the car continually,
Scheckter realised it would only be temporarily

500 only once. In victory lane, prolific car owner Andy
Granatelli planted a kiss on the young Mario's cheek.
Following the win, Mario never managed to win the great

misfortune at Indianapolis, with a cumulative total of 68
starts as drivers, has notably extended to his sons Michael
and Jeff, nephew John, as well as grandson Marco, and to
an in-direct extent, to his twin brother Aldo, and former car
owner, Paul Newman. Twice, when Michael‘s team won the
Indianapolis 500, the driver subsequently defected to rival
Chip Ganassi Racing the following year. What surname
