University attended: Oxford Uni Degree studied: BA - English Language and Literature Graduate Scheme joined: Corporate Marketing Joined: 2000 First role after completion of scheme Completed scheme while a Stores Marketing Exec - then joined Local Marketing as a Local Marketing Manager Subsequent roles: This is all my roles including the one I did while on the scheme (we didn't switch around like they do now) Stores Marketing Exec - 18 months Local Marketing Manager - 22 months Trade Planning Manager - 18 months Integration Manager - marketing lead - Czech Republic (heading up marketing stream of integration with Carrefour Senior Marketing Manager - Local Marketing (WL3) Senior Marketing Manager - Community Plan (Project Manager for Community Champions) Head of Marketing - Telecoms (Maternity leave) for 8 months Commercial Head of Broadband - since last June. Current role and work level: Commercial Head of Broadband - since last June. Experiences- international travel, promotion, projects involved in 9 months in Czech Republic as a WL2 was the most memorable - very in at the deep end, incredibly hard work but got me promoted! Integrating a huge business into ours, including the staff, the head office, the IT systems, the store look and feel was a huge job; I led the marketing and most of the "staff hearts and minds" campaign. 18 months running a Community Plan was wonderful, very rewarding, loved being close to stores, loved helping our Community Champions to grow and develop; a really life changing event for them. Started this project from scratch, invented the role, got it embedded into Store Manager objectives and steering wheel, and got numbers up to around 85 Community Champions; and now we have over 300 I think. I also wrote the Community Promises with David North, so I love seeing them being embedded into our business. Moved to Telecoms which is a complete change of industry - very eye-opening, very different to rest of Tesco, and an example of how you can do something in Tesco which you really don't have a clue about!
