A compound verb contains two or more verbs joined by a conjunction that share the same subject. Examples of each are provided. Exercises are included for the reader to identify compound subjects and verbs in sample sentences. Answer keys are provided for the exercises.

3. Recognizing Compound Subjects A compound subject is two or more subjects that have the same verb and are joined by a conjunction such as and or or. Examples: Catsandkittens are popular as pets. SheorI will feed the cat. Cats, dogs and other pets can learn to live together.
