1. SOLO is default to Oxford
Collections tab for searching books
and journals
You can enter a combination of author
and title keywords in search box.
4. 1. Click on this link
to view all editions
including online
version.
8. 1. Click Locations to
view libraries that hold
copies
2. Click Radcliffe
Science Library to
find if the book is
available for
borrowing.
9. 3. Scroll down until you
see Radcliffe Science
Library listed.
10. Radcliffe Science Library holds multiple
copies available on the shelf.
Make a note of the shelfmark. Head to RSL
level 2 to pick up a copy.
Hand your copy to staff at the circulation desk
on level 4 ( ground floor) or use the self-issue
machine.
12. 1. Click Journal Articles (beta)
tab.
2. Enter title of an article.
3. Click Search.
13. That’s the article!
Click “Online
resource”. Details
of the article are
already in the details
box. Click Go
14. This is a HTML display of the article.
To view the article like in the print journal,
click Full Text (PDF)
15. This is the PDF version. You can print, save or attach
to an email from File menu

you can enter journal title in the search box
Or click OU e-Journals.
For now, let’s search in SOLO

to access the electronic
version.
19. This journal is available full text from volume 1.
Enter details of the article ( year, volume, issue,
start page) and click GO.
You can also click GO without entering details of
the article, and use the browse function on the
publisher’s site. See next slide.

index to browse.

to limit the search to
journals. See next

23. Placing a reservation
You can place a reservation if
all the loanable copies of RSL
are out of the library
24. 1. In Oxford Collections tab for books
and journals, enter title or keywords of the
title/author.
2. Select the record that
matches with the title
you want.
25. Click Locations to
view the list of libraries
that hold copies.
Click Radcliffe
Science Library to
see if a copy is
available to borrow.
26. 2. Click Hold Title to
place a reservation
1. The only
loanable copy
is out. You can
place a
reservation.
27. Enter barcode of your university card.
Password is your date of birth i.e.
