3. THE MASH UP
A song or composition created by blending two
or more pre-recorded songs, usually by overlaying
the vocal track of one song seamlessly over the
instrumental track of another.
This gorilla take on music is generally released for free
on artists’ or record label websites and has given rise
to indie-superstar DJ’s Girl Talk, Danger Mouse,
Max Tannone and many others.
Mashups have recently gained more mainstream
attention including performances on Fox's Glee

to create an edge of your seat
performance competition show that will

WHAT NEXT!
Team Competition
Each week 4 teams compete to avoid
elimination by performing the most
creative “Flashup Mashup” as judged
by a panel of experts. Teams consist
of three team leaders (1 Mashup DJ, 1
Choreographer, and 1 Creative
Director) and the hundreds of local
volunteers that they recruit.
City vs City
The series pits Dallas vs San Fran,
LA vs NY, and City vs City as the teams
recruit from and perform in their home
communities. Competitive sprit draws
viewers in as they vote
for their hometown!
Team Competition
Each week 4 teams compete to avoid
elimination by performing the most
creative “Flashup Mashup” as judged by a
panel of experts. Teams consist of three
team leaders (1 Mashup DJ, 1
Choreographer, and 1 Creative Director)
and the hundreds of local volunteers that
they recruit.
Rules/Structure
Episodes are subject to a list various
pre-requisites that dictate musical genres
and decades that must be incorporated into
both the Mashup and the performance.
