This is a basic visualiation but nevertheless good explanation of differences between web1, 2, and 3 (called semantic web). Seen on Nesta. In brief: web 1.0 is a one-way platform, web 2.0 is a two-way platform where participation is a key-word. Web 3.0 shows more intelligence: the "web machine" learns, suggests and anticipates what people like and would like to get. By the way, web founder Tim Berners-Lee gave an interesting interview to IT World.com where he details his vision on the future of internet, the so-called semantic web.
Thank you open source…because of you, I can open up my Word and Powerpoint files, fix a spread sheet, and edit graphics for FREE vs. the $1,3045 it would take to buy these tools.
I can also create marketing artifacts for my podcast (audacity), and put them on a website that I built with one of these tools (word press, drupal, joomla)
Another nice thing is being able to be at two or three places at once… with UVNC Remote Desktop Sharing tool..I can open up my office computer from my laptop, ipad, or Iphone from anywhere.
