the life or situation of another is a hero. I also notice that our younger generation may be making

In order to be a successful hero you must be a highly motivated person. Without motivation you
would not be very successful because you would have no ambition to try and make a difference
in the world. I think Rodney Dangerfield is a great example of this because he started he career at

Policemen and firemen are not the only everyday heroes though. Paramedics is another everyday
hero. Paramedics actually save lives or atleast play a big part in saving a life. Heroes are everywhere

What Makes Someone a Hero Have you ever thought of a hero as someone who flies around with
superpowers and saves people from evil? Well guess what? That ain't happening. A real hero doesn't
have these things. Instead, they do good with the abilities they have. One guess about hero's qualities
is they have empathy and make efforts to do the right thing. These character qualities can be seen in
the great stories of Eddie Aikau, King Kamehameha and Father Damien.
The first and foremost example of heroes having the traits of empathy and doing the right thing can
be seen in the traits of Eddie Aikau. One piece of evidence that supports this can be found in
Source One. According to Source One it says, ''As the first lifeguard at Waimea Bay on the island of
Oahu, he saved over 500 people....'' (Mary Kawena paragraph 1). This shows that heroes are
empathetic and do the right thing because Eddie Aikau saved over hundreds of people as a
lifeguard. A second piece of evidence that supports heroes having the traits of empathy and doing
the right thing can be seen in Source One. Eddie Aikau was on a voyaging journey to Tahitian
Chain Islands on the Hokulea when the hull leaked and capsized. According to Source One, ''In
attempt to get help, Aikau paddled toward Lanai on his surfboard. Although the rest of the crew was
later rescued by the U.S Coast Guard Cutter Cape Corwin, Aikau was never

What Does It Mean To Be A Hero Essay
A Hero Throughout history and present day, heroes have shown themselves to be admirable
individuals. A hero is a person dedicated to helping people in need and improving their community
for everyone. They express valuable characteristics, such as integrity, courage, and leadership.
However, almost anyone can be a hero, including the following: a person serving the military, a
political figure, or even an ordinary person. Heroes stand for and put action towards fighting for
the morals in which they believe. While they are not regularly acknowledged for their services, our
troops are true heroes. They voluntarily risk their lives to fight for the freedom and rights that many

These selfless acts are committed everyday and help contribute to a cooperative society. For
example, it might be an unconscious impulse for a young lady to take the time to help an elderly
man take his groceries back to his car. The act itself provides no visible benefit for woman.
However, she and many other feel compelled to go out of their way to assist. While small, making
generous gestures like are acts of heroism rooted from moral and values stating to treat others as
you would want them to treat you. A hero is a person committed to making their environment a
better place to live. A defining characteristic of hero is doing a good deed without receiving anything
in return. A hero can vary in appearance, values, and religion, however they all keep these altruistic
motives. In addition, their benevolent intentions are rooted from essential morals, values and beliefs,
