NLIU has established itself as one of the top law universities in India in under a decade. It is ranked among the top 3 law schools and admits only 80 students annually through a competitive entrance exam. NLIU students have won numerous international moot court competitions and scholarships. The university's Alternative Dispute Resolution Cell has also been very successful, winning top awards at multiple international mediation and arbitration competitions.
4. The International Commercial Mediation Competition is an annual moot mediation competition organized by the ICC International Court of Arbitration and is one of the most prestigious Dispute Resolution Competitions around the World. Participants 2010: Mr. Rijoy Bhaumik, Ms. Adyasha Das, Ms. Divya Sharma & Mr. Bhavil Pandey 2009: Ms. Nikita Mishra, Ms. Aishwarya Singh, Mr. Prasad Rao & Mr. Prateek Mishra 2008: Mr. Rohit Ambast, Mr. Mayank Mishra, Mr. Vinay Tyagi & Mr. Navin Kumar The Competition began in 2006 and since then only a select few universities from across the globe manage to participate in the competition based on their credentials in the field of ADR. NLIU has consistently been participating in the competition since 2008 and earned accolades at the competition.
5. International Law School Mediation Tournament Chicago 2010 Participants: Mr. Raghav Ghei, Ms. Lavanya Julaniya & Mr. Chetan Kanungo It would be the first time that a team from India participated in this competition. N.L.I.U won the Outstanding New Team Award
6. I. N. C After winning the National Negotiation Competition, the students went on to represent India at INC 2009, held at John Marshall Law School, Chicago. Participants: Mr. Chetan Kanungo , Mr. Albin Tohmas George and Mr. Vinesh Chandel The team representing NLIU stood 5 th in this prestigious competition organised by HHL and Harvard Law School and defeated many institutions includeing Harvard Law School as well as the National Law School of India University (NLSIU). 2010
8. Workshops From 17 th – 19 th April 2007, ADRC in collaboration with the American Center, Mumbai conducted a three day National Level Training Program on ADR Education in Law Schools and The Role of ADR in Global Judicial Reform . The Speakers were Dean Hiram E. Chodosh , S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, USA and Prof. James R. Holbrook , Clinical Professor of Law, S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, USA. During the program, Ms. Elizabeth Kauffman , Director, American Center, Mumbai was also present. The ADR Cell is looking forward for conducting more academic programmes with experts in the field to train the students in the in the ADR processes and to send them to various national and international competitions.
