ensure sustainable withdrawals and supply of freshwater to address

suffering from water scarcity

Efficiency
Employ ozone laundry systems. It injects ozone into the water, which works
in conjunction with the laundry chemicals to provide a more efficient and
cost-effective wash
Benefits of Ozone wash:
• washing using cold water, thereby saving considerable heat energy
• significant reduction in detergent dosage and number of rinses
• gentler to fabrics, thus extending linen life.
• beneficial for effluents, resulting in reductions in COD
• allows three traditional washing steps to be eliminated (the initial flush,
one rinse, and the softener steps).
• Of particular significance is the ability of ozone/cold water to
destroy/inactivate a wide variety of microorganisms within minutes.

implemented in a phased manner at hotels in Chennai
followed by Aurangabad and Pune.
• Auto Time Management (for lighting, air-conditioning and
ventilation fans) through timers and motion sensors: helps
conserve energy

15. Strategic Incremental Plan for Clean
And Affordable Energy
• Use low-energy lighting. Replace tungsten GLS lamps and
T12 fluorescent tubes with much more energy efficient items
such as T5 tubes or compact fluorescent or LED lamps. These
could help to reduce the electricity you consume for lighting
by up to 80%.
• Implement a building management system (BEMS). These
systems control and monitor heating, ventilation and air
conditioning, and can reduce total energy costs by 10% or
more
