3. WHAT IS PRETREATMENT PROCESS ?
The process in which we remove all the natural
as well as added impurities & natural color from the
fabric is known as pretreatment process.
4. WHY IS PRETREATMENT REQUIRED?
As a whole this process consist of singeing , desizing ,
scouring and bleaching process.
pretreatment process basically aim to removal all impurities
found on fabric so that materials have -
1) Degree of white,
2) Absorbent to dyestuff.

04 to 40 minutes.
28. WINDOW OF SINGEING BURNER
PTR 1
PTR 1 has small
window so it's not

PTR 2
PTR 2 has large window

more visualization which
help to find the mistakes
easly.

32. OBSERVATIONS
Counter-current washing mechanism is used in washers.
Use of hot water lowers the amount of steam consumption.
At VDR amount of steam supplied depends on the article.
In steamer we use wet steam & in washers and VDR we use dry
steam.
Dwell time of PTR 1 is 28.03 min whereas PTR 2 is 25.66 min.
Fabric content of PTR 1 is 2803 mtr whereas PTR 2 is 2308 mtr.
No. of washers are 10 in PTR 1 whereas in PTR 2 is 7 .
PTR 1 has 3 steamers and PTR 2 has 2 steamers.
We use heat exchanger at every section.
Outlet j-scray height of PTR 1 is 4 mtr and PTR 2 outlet j-scray height
is 5 mtr.
PTR 1 has 2 fortracta whereas PTR 2 has 2 trikoflex.
Electronic sensors is on outside of the steamer in PTR 2 whereas in
PTR 1 electronic sensors is inside on the roller.
Spreader for openning selvedge fold is available in PTR 2 whereas in
PTR 1 it's not available.
Quick machine stop button is available in PTR 2 whereas in PTR 1
it's not available.
Drain is on the side of the machine in PTR 2 whereas in PTR 1 it's
bottom of the machine.
33. CONCLUSION
At singeing section in PTR 2 we have 4 flame position who provides
more smooth surface.
At singeing section in PTR 2 we have automatic selvedge extinguisher
which maintain better selvedge protection.
At desizing section in PTR 2 we can mix chemical separatly so PTR 2
provides more efficiency in chemicals according to the fabric
requirement.
At desizing section in PTR 2 we have a with roller-bed steamer so we
can set the dwell time in desizing chamber .
In PTR 2 we can do batch-wise process so we have a option for cold
bleaching.
PTR 2 has batch-wise process so we can send the fabric direct to
bleaching or mercerizing and other process after singeing.
PTR 1 has fortracta whereas PTR 2 has trikoflex and trikoflex is a
advance cleaning system so PTR 2 provides more cleaning efficiency.
In PTR 1 we have separate section of scouring & bleaching but in PTR
2 we do combined process of scouring & bleaching so we have
advantage in PTR 2 of low threading length & short time processing.
In PTR 2 we can instant changes in chemicals but in PTR 1 we can't.
For full white fabric we use PTR 1 because it gives good result.
34. MY SUGGESTION
We should apply a star roll at singeing section in PTR 1
because fabric stucks many times while coming in inlet
S-scray.
We should increse the height of outlet j-scray of PTR 1.
We should repair the selvedge extinguisher of PTR 2.
