affordable home hemodiaylsis continue. Story from The
Chicago Daily Herald. Growth is heavily dependent on
lowering production costs. The company is working to
reduce the production cost, which initially was $60,000
and now is $45,000. The machine currently sells for
$40,000, a price the company hopes to cut to $25,000 by
the end of next year as volume picks up.
"We expect a positive gross profit sometime at the end
of 2005 or in 2006. We won't see positive cash flow until
the end of 2007," said Aksys CEO Bill Dow.
