Transformer Oil Testing
Oil suffers from electrical and mechanical stresses while a transformer is in operation. In addition there are contaminations caused due
to chemical interactions with windings and other solid insulations, catalyzed by high operating temperature. As a result the original
chemical properties of Transformer Oil changes gradually, rendering it ineffective for its intended purpose after many years. Hence this
oil has to be periodically tested to ascertain its basic electrical properties, and make sure it is suitable for further use or necessary
actions like filtration/regeneration has to be done.

Transformer Oil Testing Laboratory (TOTL)
PE‐TOTL is India’s leading private laboratory for Transformer Oil testing. It is
located in the same premises as the HQ office, and this allows for constant
supervision and monitoring of test methods and testing procedures, and
constant upgradation to higher standards of testing. The NABL accreditation
for this test laboratory is the icing on the cake, and allows us to certify our
test results with authority that very few laboratories across India can match.
The testing is usually done as per IEC 17025:2000, but we have the capability
to test as per the customer’s requirements for any other local standard also.
Add the low turnaround time for sample testing, the precise and accurate
results, and the record maintenance; the high demand from our customers is
making us almost approach the end of spare capacity. The plan hence is to
replicate the high standards of Oil testing and set up a couple more of
regional laboratories across India and Mid‐East.

testing by NABL (T‐1424). It is only one of the few private labs in
India to be accorded this status. The NABL accreditation allows our
customers to be able to compare and use the test readings to a
scale comparable with National test laboratories. It is also a proof

Condition Monitoring Services
Testing is only half the work done….without correct and accurate analysis, it serves no worthwhile purpose. Our engineers and
laboratory staff are well equipped with knowledge and experience to be able to analyze the results and predict any kind of rapid
degradation of Oil parameters, or advise residual life expectancy or fault interpretation. We follow it up with site visit and testing of
other parameters of your equipment, to confirm the assessment, and help the customer take preventive and corrective measures
well within time. A maintenance contract signed with us for all your critical equipment gives you complete peace of mind, because
we look after them 24X7 thereafter, including scheduled and emergency visits.
Convenience with TOTL association
• Test results provided within 3 working days from sample receipt
• Urgent testing provision at additional 25% charge. Test result provided within 1 working day
• Logistic control and handling may be done by TOTL, on customer’s request
• All tests done under controlled temperature and humidity, to maintain test integrity
• All testing data records maintained for a period of 6 years
• Statistical trending & analysis, on request
• Experienced persons handling test operations, on continual basis since past 5 years
• Single point communication window established for all customers
• Volume discount available to special customers with committed volumes

Sample Procedure & Costs
• Sampling will be done by our person. Travelling to & fro charges from Nasik will be to customer’s account.
• Customer can issue sampling bottles from us, and do their sampling themselves. To & fro logistics cost of bottles, including
taxes/custom levies will be to customer’s account.
• Sampling bottle may be provided on request. Deposit per bottle is 7500 INR (150US$), on refundable basis.
• Test results will be provided by email. For any paper copy requirement, shipping within India is free, but outside India is to
customer’s account.
