Parent University plansParent University plans……
Understand the education system in the United States Understand education system and to work as a team towards student achievement.
In the English classes I am planning on focusing on the four domains of listening reading speaking and writing
The Parent Orientation went very well! Parents were so excited to listen, learn and give their feedback. We had a huge crowd in the morning as compared to the afternoon. We were able to learn how to say hello in different languages and some key phrases. Parents got to take home calendars, backpacks, clothing, shoes and canned food (Jennifer and Stef), fire safety in different languages, healthy food recipes from Hyvee. Thanks to Dr.Gaston for willingly giving us the room to host the parent orientation! Thanks to Jennifer and Stef for all their help! We are planning to have some more sessions in the future. Some of them will be celebration of cultures, parents teaching us some key words in their languages etc.
