6. “Our support of SBC initiatives reflects our
commitment to building a growing
ecosystem of partners that will help us to
deliver innovative solutions and sustainable
financial wellbeing for our customers and
the broader community. In particular, we are
excited to work with scale-ups that can
rapidly help to solve some of Old Mutual’s
existing problem statements. In our
organisation, it is vital that we build a
portfolio of early- and later-stage start-ups
across a variety of sectors. This certainly
creates value for our customers and our
business, not only over different time
horizons, but also across various elements of
our value chains.”

7. "Nedbank was the first African bank to
sponsor a Startupbootcamp programme.
Teams from across the Nedbank Group are
excited to engage with the finalist teams that
are solving African challenges during the
Cape Town accelerator's third cohort. Like
Nedbank, the finalist teams for the Selection
Days are seeing industry differently, and
we're ready to collaborate and contribute our
financial expertise. We wish the Top 22
teams well."

8. "There is an abundance of untapped potential
that exists in Africa. Our sponsorship of the
SBC AfriTech programme can potentially
enable entrepreneurs to rise above the
challenges that so many startup ventures
experience. As one of the leading financial
services institutions in South Africa, there is
constantly a need for new, innovative ways
to improve the credit product offering for our
business partners and essentially improve
the overall customer experience for their
clients. Many startups hold the key to these
solutions."
9. "Since our involvement in the Startupbootcamp
programme, RCS with the support of BNP
Paribas Personal Finance have integrated
several startups from the alumni cohorts into
the business after reviewing several proof of
concepts from the teams. The programme has
triggered interest way beyond BNP Paribas
Personal Finance, inside and outside the group,
by proving its value. We have indeed
successfully launched several collaborations
with the startups and incubated a few FinTechs
which we took to the world's largest rendezvous
for startups and leaders - VivaTech in Paris."

10. "Our industry expertise and understanding of
markets means we are perfectly placed to
mentor the startups. The selection process
gives us an opportunity to meet the founders,
understand their business and gives us
insight as to how to best support them. PwC's
purpose is to solve important problems and
build trust in society. This is the lens that
we'll be viewing the startups through: Do
these business solve problems, meet
customer's needs and that of our clients."
11. "Working with the SBC cohort is exciting in so many ways -
but the best is getting a front row seat to watch how people
are changing the world.”
Gareth Price, Director, Cloudworx Accounting Solutions
"The ICIC is proud to partner with Startupbootcamp AfriTech to
power the co-working space that gives these talented teams the
best chance of success. It's our job to handle everything that is not
their core business focus. We work hard so they can too."
Schuyler Vorster, Founder, Inner City Ideas Cartel
12. “Brevity Law is excited to witness, once again, the richness,
creativity and innovation of ideas that the African continent
has to offer, showcased by Startupbootcamp. This year we are
happy to give each of the selected startups a carefully curated
bundle of useful, standard form agreements, which we have
no doubt will prove useful as they continue to mature their
businesses.”
Juliette Thirsk, Director, Brevity Law
"Now is the time to get involved and tell the African innovation story
collectively as a continent to attract investment, grow talent and drive
this economic agenda. Through the partnerships we support we work
to communicate and connect in a manner that stimulates investments,
integration into opportunities and critical collaboration between global
and African innovation players."
Jo Griffiths and Caitlin Nash, co-Managing Partners, The Loudhailer
13. "At Dentons, we believe that entrepreneurs, start-ups and emerging
growth companies are key to the transformation of Africa. Through
our partnership with SBC, we are extremely excited to use our legal

3DIMO
Sport athletes are the most highly priced people in
the world. There is no other career in the world
where a person can move from one organization to
the next carrying a high price tag than in sport.
Sports clubs spend a lot to acquire services of a
player, they demand ROI and to ensure that their
investment is safe and performs to expectations
it’s important that players are secured which is
something that the sporting sector has not offered
sport players.
3DIMO offers a tracking and insurance solution for
sport clubs - using performance tracking and
injury sensing devices to optimize injury detection
and prevention. This technology aligns with the
athlete's specific physical and technical data
generated during training and at games. 3DIMO
provides an invisible member to clubs' technical
team who provides live feed data of players'
performance and injury risk profile - to ensure that
coaches, medical team and performance personnel
make informed decisions for the players to do
what they love most and the supporters to enjoy
their team winning.

Cinnamon Clubs
Social Savings clubs, are largely informal with
members lacking relevant professional skills.
There is a lot of ambiguity in booking keeping
methodologies ranging from excel sheets to more
mundane ledger books stored in filing cabinets,
resulting in incoherent, not easily accessible
records and revenue leakages.
Cinnamon Clubs was developed as a SaaS means
to foster management efficiencies through
automated bookkeeping, ensuring completeness,
integrity, accuracy and transparency of both
records and Club financial activities to club
members. The integration of the service with USSD
technology, guarantees its reach to the previously
financially unserved through mobile devices and
feature phones.
With its cloud based architecture accessible
through the web and mobile phone app, members
have seamless signup access, easy visibility of
club activities and facilities like loans, collections,
shares, investments and accounting reports, and
more. There are currently 494 clubs each with
approximately 20 members in 4 countries (Uganda,
Kenya, Ethiopia and Zambia), and we are rapidly
expanding to a much larger audience.

To help reduce this, Curacel CLAIMS provides

YouFarm
Traditional financial institutions are not
addressing the funding needs of farmers and
the equities and securities markets are too
complex and not welcoming to every day
people.
The YouFarm Crowd Funding Platform
provides farmers with access to collateral-free
finance by getting people to invest in crops
and livestock and share the profits with the
farmers when the produce goes to market. It
allows people without land an opportunity to
earn money and become a part of the
agricultural value chain.
YouFarm is a peer to peer funding platform for
farmers. YouFarm is the convergence of
Fintech and agriculture. YouFarm already has
nearly 500 registered crop investors (70 of
which are active) and 180 registered farmer.
Since December 2018 YouFarm has fully
funded 4 projects raising close to USD10,000
and has USD1.2m in cropping orders for the
2019/2020 agricultural season.
