Inclusion Training in Intellectual Disability for Educators in Europe

• Inclusion improves outcomes for individuals

understanding and practice to provide this
successfully
• Training and inclusion levels vary across Europe
• So we aim to:
• Find out what the training needs are across Europe
• Provide accessible, high quality online training
materials

Learning Difficulties

– 16 modules in 4 subject groups:
1. Understanding the child: development & difficulties
2. The legislative context
3. Talking & listening to families
4. Quality of Life

The next stage: adapting the online materials
• Each partner country is adapting the materials to their
language, culture, health and education systems
• Useful for professionals, parents and students
• flexible, personalised learning approaches
• customised training for different settings
• ITIDE is linking the training materials to international
accreditation pathways (such as the European Credit
System for Vocational Education and Training).
