INTRODUCTION
“A thousand hearings are not so effective
as one seeing”
-Chinese Proverb
 The National Knowledge commission
2009(NKC) has observed that teachers are
the single most important elements of the
education system and country is already
facing a saver shortage of qualified
motivated teachers at deferent levels.
CONTD…..
 The training of teachers is a major area of
concern at present as both pre service and
in service training of teacher are extremely
inadequate and poorly managed in most
state.
 Pre service training needs to be improved
and differently regulated both in public and
private institutions, NCFTE 2009
emphasized ICT in schooling as well as e-
learning became centre in the framework.
CONTD…..
 ICT has become an integral part of today’s
teaching learning process.

environment.
ICT and Education
 ICT enables self-placed learning through
various tools such as computer, as a result of
this, teaching facilitate the transaction
between producing learning has become
more productive and meaningful.
 ICT helps to and users by keeping the
student updated and enhancing teachers
capacity and ability fostering a live contact
between teachers and student through e-
mail, e-learning, web based learning, etc.
WHY DO WE NEED ICT?
 The face of classroom is changing. The
teachers should prepare to keep up with
technology utility in the classroom.
 ICT is not only an essential tool for
teachers in their day to day teaching,
but also offers the opportunities for their
own professional development.
CONTD..
 In conventional teaching most of the time is
consumed for the input output and less time
left for the process.
 But in teaching with ICT the output and input
time is reduced and the process time is
increased. When the process time is
increased, time of students’ activities,
discussion, correlation with other subjects,
brainstorming and learning etc will increase.
ICT Help to Improve Education
 Increase – Quality of learning.
 Decrease – Time taken for learners.
 Increase – Efficiency of teachers.
 Reduce – Cost, without affecting quality.
 Increase – Flexibility of education and
training.
